The Individuation Process: Why It’s Important!

November 25, 2020 by Gabe Leave a Comment

Quick Facts

-Some of us find meaning in disassociating from society and become a whole, authentic individual!

-The individuation process often includes meditation, the subjective discovery of who we really are, and the integration of the parts of our personality that are ignored, pushed away, or unnoticed!

Intro

The individuation process is something that, while painful, strange, and sometimes overwhelming, is one of the more important things you can do in your life! It helps bring you from a state of unconsciousness to a state of self-awareness, and my argument is that self-awareness is worth the process it often takes to reach it!

What Is The Individuation Process?

Carl Jung was a famous psychoanalyst who lived in the late 1800s and early 1900s. Some argue that he was (and still is) the greatest and most effective psychoanalyst in the history of mankind, and the reasoning for these assertions became clear after I read his books! He was (at least) a genius, and I make this conclusion after the application of his methods played a role in healing/integrating someone who was as broken as I was. It’s one of those instances where if his methods could help me they definitely have a high chance of helping you!

His method called the individuation process isn’t necessarily a method, rather it was him writing down a set of conclusions based on what he observed in himself and others. The details of the process and the process itself are different for each individual, however, he observed some common patterns experienced by many of the people who began such a journey. These are:

The Shadow Archetype

The Anima/Animus

The Self

The shadow archetype is an archetype composed of all of the traits you suppress, deny, and/or ignore within yourself. Jung observed that integrating these traits is often (if not always) the first stage of the individuation process and arguably the most important. Consciously integrating your shadow allows you to gain control of it instead of the other way around, and I’ve personally experienced this.

The anima is the feminine component of the male and the animus is the masculine component of the female. The man projects his anima onto the females of his life and the woman projects her animus onto the males of her life, and integrating this part of yourself is another step towards becoming psychically whole.

Then there’s the self. The self is described as the wholeness of your psyche, which is distinguished from the ego (the ego is a part of the totality of the psyche). It’s often represented by the wise old man and woman, although personally, I experience it as source.

These three landmarks (mind marks?) are common to experience in one form or another, although most (if not all) of the individuation process happens differently for you than for everybody else. This process also seems to bring different people to different “endstates,” and I describe an endstate as a state of mind that’s at or near the end of the individuation process, and it is a state in which one can be considered to be enlightened.

Why It’s So Important

The most notable change I experienced throughout this process was how much true bliss I began to feel. Before I started I was quite the anxious mess, and 3 years later the experience is quite different in a good way! When people talk about enlightenment I don’t know if they understand what they’re talking about – yes, part of it is sunshine and rainbows, but another part of it is coming to terms with the darker, ignored, more sinister parts of life; even the buddha saw the streets beyond his father’s castle before he reached his enlightenment! Perhaps this isn’t always the case, but I suspect that facing and integrating the less desirable aspects of your personality will provide you with much meaning, positive control, and bliss.

Another reason why it’s important is that it shows you what’s beyond the herd mind (or the acquired mind as Jung would say). Staying within the herd mind for too long will probably result in a less-than-desirable life, whereas the individuation process brings you into a state of wholeness. Or, in other words, being relatively unconscious of yourself will probably breed suffering, and being relatively conscious of yourself will probably breed success and happiness!

And of course, you get to explore your inner world while you do it. Your inner world is something amazing, something that’s meaningful in and of itself, and the more you go into it with the intent of becoming psychically whole the better you’ll feel, and the better life will be!

My Personal Experience

I grew up with a narcissistic father and a very submissive/manipulative mother as my parents. I was the oldest child which didn’t help much, growing up was really tough – my mind was warped, my self-esteem didn’t exist, I had to walk on eggshells all of the time, they didn’t truly care about me or my opinions, I was forced to homeschool and miss out on crucial socialization, it was religion or hit the road – the list goes on and on. I finally moved out of their house and began to heal from the deep, deep depression I was suffering from, and a large part of that was my journey through the integration process over a period of 3 years!

It was pretty grueling, especially at first – I faced my dark thoughts and feelings, disidentified from them, reintegrated them, and “matured” them into something useful and regenerative. I faced my insecurities, my shame, my fears, and angers… And after a while, it started to become fun! Nowadays I enjoy facing the dark/undesirable parts of my being because the individuation process works so well for me.

I want to share what worked for me in my time of darkness – it was, specifically, the choice to heal and become everything I wanted to become. Everything else came after that, and I can genuinely say that I’m healed and integrated largely because of the individuation process itself 🙂

Tips and Tricks

There are, however, some things I wish I knew before I started!

-It’s best to cultivate an open mind, even if you already have one. This can be done by saying/thinking, “I choose to open my mind” “I choose to open my 3rd eye.” Often this will be a consistent choice made over time as opposed to a one-and-done deal.

-It can be hard when you’re facing your shadow for the first time. I didn’t know how hard it could actually be until I attempted it! Sometimes I felt a fear so intense I wondered if it would be the death of me, and I feel as if you may go through the same experience as well. If you become very afraid while you’re facing your shadow and/or the dark parts of your psyche I recommend disidentifying from the fear itself so that you can see it (the shadow aspect) for what it really is. If you wish you can address the fear at the same moment.

-Patience. I thought that after you disidentified from a negative belief, disidentified from the need for the negative belief, and replaced it with a positive belief the negative mood would simply vanish into thin air. But that’s not necessarily the case! Perhaps you dealt with that one problem correctly but there can be 20 other beliefs that contribute to the crummy mood/bad choices/destructive habits, etc. Please be patient with yourself while you do this, it may take a while to fully emerge on the other side.

-It’s so wonderful on the other side! When every part of you is discovered, disidentified from, and integrated there is a kind of peace and control that makes all of the effort genuinely worth it! And you can begin feeling this way even if you’re halfway through, granted it won’t be as intense or meaningful, but you’re rewarded along the way as well as at the end!

-Also, if you don’t know where to start, let your imagination run wild, ask yourself questions about yourself, and feel/see everything in your inner world with no judgment!

Conclusion

While the individuation process isn’t very well known it’s very effective for bringing about subjective well-being. My question to you is, are you going to choose to be well/keep being well? 🙂

Thank you for reading my article! This one’s important so I really appreciate your attention, I’ll see you next time!

Monogamous or Open Relationships?

November 16, 2020 by Gabe Leave a Comment

Quick Facts

-Monogamous relationships partially go against our primal biology called The Coolidge Effect! Interestingly enough, monogamous relationships complement our primal biology in other ways, almost as if we were living in a paradox!

-More and more people are having an open mind when it comes to relationships, and you may want to consider which kind of relationship is best for you.

Intro!

I’ve observed many different kinds of couples, some of whom were in a monogamous relationship and some of whom were in an open relationship. It seems to me that many people who agree to a monogamous relationship only do so because they believe they should, they don’t necessarily make their decision with basic biology or their own desires in mind, which leads me to ask an important question; monogamy, or openness?

Monogamous Relationships

Monogamy is the traditional way to have a relationship. One man, one woman, marriage for life with no sexual or romantic conduct with anyone else except for your one person.

My conclusion is that monogamous relationships work especially well with people who are type D: low-energy, meticulous, detail-oriented, steady, and unchanging. Many men and women love the idea of settling down with one person for life and raising a family with them, and these people tend to push their beliefs onto other people as “the way it should be.” Monogamous relationships open the opportunity for trust and steadiness within a partner but also the opportunity to break that trust by having romantic interactions with others.

Open Relationships

Open relationships are almost the same as monogamous relationships except both partners can have romantic interactions with other people. People in open relationships share their lives with each other, they create memories, raise a family, and love each other, but they also have sex and go on dates with other people.

Being in an open relationship is an amazing option for those who are psychologically and emotionally healthy because it goes along with our primal biology! We have biological wiring that encourages and motivates us to have sex with as many partners as we can. It’s called the Coolidge effect, and it’s the primary reason why we can be so easily “addicted” to porn. I recommend watching this video series on it, it’s super interesting!

Type A, B, and C dominants can find open relationships intriguing, especially Type Bs! I don’t recommend being in an open relationship if you’re prone to jealousy or if you’re emotionally immature as a whole because, in this case, a fling can be considered something more than such.

Is There One, Correct Answer?

First, I recommend pondering what your personal desires are. What do you want? Why do you want it? Coming up with your own, personal preference is far better than any advice I can provide to you here. Maybe it turns out you want neither kind of relationship! Maybe you want something different, or you desire to be single.

Second, I recommend being in an open relationship more-so than a monogamous relationship. I secretly want you to become psychologically and emotionally mature enough to have a healthy open relationship, and if you’re already there I recommend staying open. Why? Because of our primal biology, but also because of how good it feels to be free. You can talk to and do whatever you like with whomever you like without any judgment from your partner! This alone usually makes life healthier than believing you can or cannot act in certain ways, which is always present in a monogamous relationship.

Conclusion

Which will you choose? I can’t wait to find out!

Thank you for reading my article! I’ll see you later! 🙂

A Call To Legalize Psychedelics – Or Else, To Use Them!

November 14, 2020 by Gabe Leave a Comment

Quick Facts

-Psychedelics, psilocybin mushrooms, in particular, are very healthy for us! It’s for this reason that we should legalize and integrate them into our country as soon as possible!

-We can minimize the dangers of psychedelics by taking the necessary precautions!

Intro!

Psychedelics have been a part of our history for longer than most of us think! The earliest evidence of usage we know of is 7,000-9,000 years old, and we have evidence that psychedelics have been steadily used in many different cultures around the world throughout these 9,000 years. Only recently has the law been trying to control our perception about these substances by making them illegal and talking bad about them.

So, we’ve been using them for 9,000 years and we’re still alive as a species? That alone should tell you something right there. Why is the law trying to cover them up? And what are they, exactly? Why am I writing a call to legalize and use them? Let’s answer these questions down below 🙂

What Psychedelics Are All About

Aight lemme say something:

Almost irregardless of the psychedelic it shows you what’s really happening. And, they can show you that what’s happening is meaningful in and of itself!

I make this call because (especially in the case of substances that are naturally psychedelic such as psilocybin mushrooms, DMT, etc) our quality of life was much higher when we were ingesting them many millennia ago. We stopped, and now we’ve turned into… this. And yes, it’s because we stopped, it’s not just a coincidence :p

They’re all about opening your mind and giving you the opportunity to do so many things… To see and feel so many things… They really make our quality of life shoot right through the roof, so much so that it’s impossible to capture the entirety of it and put it into words, and so much so that too many of us are chronically suffering as a result of abstaining from them.

Why They’re Illegal and Talked Down Upon

Let’s say you want total control and that you’re willing to obtain and maintain it at any cost. You get into government, start at the bottom, and work your way to the top… The very top. (I understand this is unrealistic but bear with me.) You’re part of the elite and you have the power to do anything. What would you do?

Well since you want total control and since you’re willing to obtain and retain it at any cost you’d subtly control what the TV stations can or cannot play, and what the movies/shows can or cannot say. You’d put regulations on corporations so that they have to pay you and follow your rules just so they can stay in business. You’d control what the public school system teaches children. You’d be constantly attempting mind-control experiments to see which ones are the most effective.

And, you’d be searching for and eliminating any possible threats that threaten to remove you from power. This largely includes armies and arsenals from other countries, free thinkers, speakers who expose their ways… And psychedelics.

Psychedelics have an amazing capability for exposing the government for what it really is; certain people expressing who they are and what they desire. They can show you that just because someone writes something down as policy or law doesn’t mean that it should be backed with physical force and that the law should be scrutinized and seen for what it really is – a fear-based agenda of keeping a few in power.

“But, doesn’t the law keep criminals from getting their way? Doesn’t it keep us safe?” Many criminals are a result of a combination of poverty and anger/resentment. Why are people poor? Because they don’t have enough money. Why don’t they have enough money? Because their job only gives them just enough to survive, just enough to get them through till their next paycheck. Why? In some cases, it’s because the company is greedy, but in other cases, it’s because they’re bound by so many legal obligations that they couldn’t afford to pay their employees more even if they want to. Also, because the employee cannot move up or get a better job. Why? Because they weren’t taught how to do either of those two things!

Why are poor people angry/resentful? Usually, it’s because they grow up with people who are the same way. But why do they stay like this? Because no one tells them better, no one tells them that it’s a good idea to ask themselves why they’re angry and how they do everything they can to help themselves have better lives and have less resentment. And who’s responsible for teaching children the right things? The parents, but who taught the parents? The school system. And who runs the school system?

Uh-huh, you guessed it…

Ultimately, the government creates the very problem that it claims to eradicate. It’s rules, laws, regulations, and endless thirst for power (combined with negligence and ignorance) negatively affect everybody else and encourage criminals to become criminals. Then they step in and claim to cure the problem by putting them in prison, but people don’t actually learn from going to prison… They learn by taking psychedelics!

This is why the law has banned these substances, they don’t want us seeing through their charade. They don’t want us to figure it out and notice what these substances have to offer us. But my biggest fear is that you respect the law and therefore go with what they say; I request that you respect me even more, listen to what I say, and try psilocybin mushrooms for yourself with the correct intentions while alone and safe.

And besides this, the law goes out of its way to incriminate innocent people, especially people who take psychedelic substances, as I’ve mentioned before. That alone should be enough to raise an eyebrow or two.

They’re illegal and talked down upon because the higher up you are in government, generally speaking, the crazier, lazier, and more corrupt you are! Government is a corrupt system to begin with, and so climbing it requires a corrupt attitude and mindset towards… Well, everything.

What Are The Dangers?

-Fear. If you feel a lot of fear and/or you ingest with people who feel a lot of fear the experience may not be very beneficial. It can become a danger if you or somebody else panics due to the volatile effect psychedelics often give us, especially if we act on this panic instead of simply letting it pass through.

-Paranoia. As an offshoot from fear we mostly have the law to thank for this one – if we feel paranoid that we’ll get caught after ingesting we’ll probably spend most of the experience looking out for law enforcement and/or people who would turn us in. If the paranoia is strong enough it can easily lead to a panic attack and undesirable actions.

-Mental illnesses. If you have a mental illness (whether it’s surfaced or hidden) or if your family has a history of mental illness then psyches probably aren’t for you. This is especially true for schizophrenia. The reason for this is because your mental state half determines the nature of your trip… Although I’ll be honest, I’ve never taken psychedelics with schizophrenia, so I’m not sure what actually happens… However, I feel like airing on the side of caution as far as this side is concerned.

-An unideal set and setting, coming across the wrong people/wrong situations (bad influence). What tends to happen when your set (your mindset) and setting (your physical situation, things, and people) isn’t set up properly is you come across situations and mental stuff that make the experience unideal, or even dangerous. We want to avoid bad influence more than anything, which is why I always suggest being alone during these experiences. I’ve also written a post on how we can properly introduce psychedelics to modern society, and the solution greatly helps with this problem!

How We Can Use Them Most Effectively

It’s difficult to put into words just how amazing reality is after ingesting psychedelics. And it’s quite dynamic too – you can eat some psilocybin mushrooms and take a nice stroll in the woods to have the experience go one way, or you can take the same dosage and lie in a dark room with your eyes closed for a completely different experience. What helps define these experiences are the intentions you have before and during the ingestion, and your mindset/beliefs in general.

Some amazing intentions to have before taking these substances are, “I intend to learn as much as I can today.”  “I intend to deeply meditate with these substances.” “I intend to heal myself.” “I intend to self-analyze and uproot my detrimental beliefs.” “I intend to form my best perspective.” “I intend to heal others.” “I intend to be.” “I intend to pay attention and see what’s really going on here.” Having these intentions really makes these experiences useful and provides the opportunity for long-lasting, positive change. I’ve observed that if we take psychedelics without these intents or similar intents the experience is shallow and doesn’t provide very much meaning.

Also, I encourage you to keep your physical environment worry and stress-free. Canceling any plans you have, not being in the company of bad people, not being in the city (I can personally attest for that one) are all great ways to improve your setting. This is almost just as important as having a great mindset.

And beyond this, if enough of us take psychedelics with these intentions (and perhaps there are better ones) we can live fulfilling lives, be able to heal ourselves and others, be influential for the right reasons/ends, act in the right ways, and tend to the earth. These are some of the major things that too many of us lack… Thankfully it’s an easy fix 🙂

Conclusion

So, if you’re reading this as a legal official I encourage you to take this information to heart and do your best to lift the ban and the negative influence the law has on psychedelics. But even if you don’t, that’s okay – more and more of us are waking up and taking them anyway, without your consent, without your permission… Because it’s the right thing to do 🙂

On Competition

November 13, 2020 by Gabe Leave a Comment

Quick Fact

-We normally engage in competition to feel good, however, we can obtain the same feelings by other, more effective means!

Intro

Competition, as we very well know, is extremely popular in our modern society today. It comes in forms varying from sports to conversations to partners to wars, and it seems like we can’t get enough of it. Watching sports in America is so popular that it almost defines America, and of course almost every country values war, an extreme form of competition… So what gives?

You know, there’s a person in my life who is extremely hypercompetitive. He’s the most competitive person I’ve ever seen in real life or TV, and it’s ruining (or otherwise greatly inhibiting) his life on every possible dimension. I began to question the point and goal of competition before, but meeting this guy made me question it even more… Until I arrived at my stark conclusions! Let’s take a look at the nature of competition, shall we?

The Nature of Competition, What The Goal Is

So, we have two basketball teams trying to win a game. Why?

Part of this is simply a biological urge. Testosterone, to be exact – the higher your level of testosterone the more competitive you’re likely to be.

I’m fairly certain that we developed this chemical because we faced a lot of threats in our primal years. It helped by giving us the “alpha” mindset, “I deserve to live and you don’t,” and this mindset combined with physical strength made it possible for us to kill enough oncoming threats to survive into the modern age. We probably developed serotonin and/or dopamine alongside testosterone because our bodies wanted us to feel good right after we defended our families, almost as a source of motivation!

So nowadays we have many men who know how it feels to “win,” to be the alpha, to be dominant over others. We enjoy feeling good, so we compete in sports and try to win because we know winning feels good. Or we try to dominate the conversation. Or we boss our partner around. Or… Well, it can be a number of things. Plus, we feel other endorphins while our body is moving, and these feel great as well.

Competition is a very primal, biological state of being with a simple goal – survive and feel good. Often we don’t even know why we compete, but so much of our country and our world is so obsessed with it because we want to feel the good stuff, and because we don’t understand better ways of obtaining said good stuff.

The Positives and The Negatives

The positives are:

-Competition (competing in sports, etc) makes us feel good through physical movement and teamwork

-Competition where there isn’t much physical movement still feels good via winning and teamwork

-It’s easy and simple to initiate and carry out consistently.

-Almost everyone on the planet enjoys watching or participating in some form of competition, which means it’s a great way to relate to people.

And the negatives are:

-As it stands many of us are far too obsessed with it, some of us even going so far as to ignore our spouses and/or children to watch the game.

-it’s very very pushed in almost every single country in one form or another, we love to prioritize it over literally everything else. Consequently, many of us weren’t raised right and yearn for “the thing we can’t explain.”

-The majority of us who are consumed by competitive spirits often stay there for life, and that life is often a low-vibrational and unfulfilling life.

In my opinion, the negatives are far too detrimental to be ignored! Some of us have a healthy view towards competition and we take it quite lightly, but it’s worth continuing for the same of those who are simply enraptured by the competitive spirit.

How To Reach The Goal In Better (More Effective) Ways

Feeling good and surviving isn’t very difficult! It especially doesn’t require us to be consumed by competitive spirits – a healthy balance between healthy competition and doing other things in life will often be the best way to reach our goal of “surviving and feeling good.”

I encourage you to ask yourself, “in which areas of my life do I want to take action? Where do I cut back and where do I move forward? And why, exactly?” Once you know exactly where and why you want to take action, taking the action itself will probably feel more meaningful overall.

There are other ways such as deep meditation. You can choose to feel good whenever you want, and I especially direct this next point to the militarily-minded among us – psychedelics. Ironically, the ones who make and enforce the law against psychedelics are the ones who need (and benefit from) them the most!

Don’t discount a healthy diet, a healthy social life, and a healthy relationship. Learning how to build the necessary skills to have these things will take some time but I 100% recommend that everybody do this as well as you/they possibly can.

Conclusion

In the end, being too obsessed with competition isn’t very healthy for you or anyone around you. If you’re already healthy and you enjoy watching the game then that’s fine! But there are always different (dare I say, better!) ways to achieve the goal that competition wishes to achieve, especially when it comes to war. Every soldier should meditate and take psychedelics, period! Then they’ll see how great their war really is!

Beyond Spirituality

November 2, 2020 by Gabe Leave a Comment

Quick Fact

-There is a state of being that feels like it’s beyond the current definition of spirituality we see today! This state of being can be reached through meditation and a kind of dream called a “wisdom dream,” the most powerful kind of dream!

Intro

I’ll admit – I know it’s bold to even claim that there’s anything beyond spiritual practice and experience. However, I understand that we as a modern species understand spirituality in a certain light, and I wish to convey an understanding that’s beyond this modern understanding of spirituality.

My Experience

Sometimes I will have a very, very powerful dream. This kind of dream is so vivid and so intense that I cannot convey the entirety of its meaning to you through a mode of communication so primitive as the English language… Nonetheless, I call them “wisdom dreams” or “healing dreams.”

In my most recent dream I was sitting down and I could turn a full 360 degrees to view the (rocky and desert-esque) landscape. I also had a pair of sunglasses and when I wore the sunglasses, the tone of my dream changed from color to black and white! Pretty cool all by itself, but something else would happen… A portal would appear when I had the glasses on. A small, white portal. When I looked into it I could feel something happen inside of my head, and when I looked away I would feel normal again.

My friend was sitting beside me (who happens to be extremely conscious in the waking world) and she told me, “if you look into that portal for long enough you’ll go on a DMT trip.”

I looked at her in an odd way since I… Couldn’t have a DMT trip? I mean, it was impossible since I was asleep, plus I didn’t have any on me!

I fooled around for a little while and then I decided to jump right into it. I put on the glasses, looked directly into the portal, and off I went.

To say this was a healthy experience would be an understatement – it was exactly like a DMT experience except it was fully inside of my own mind! It started out small (in other words, memorable) and I floated in space with toy dinosaurs and toy blocks floating all around me. Perhaps aliens were there as well? I don’t remember. What I do remember was the feeling of absolute transcendental bliss and the feeling like it was progressing into more of the same.

The dream progressed two more “levels” until I reached the core of the whole thing. I remember speaking with something (someone?) and I remember that their words were very meaningful but I don’t remember what they said. I woke up and spent the entire day healed of any and all psychological and emotional ailments (which is really saying something considering how broken I was at the time)!

That dream plus countless other experiences have led me to write this post – yes, all of these can be considered spiritual experiences, but they’re so meaningful and so wonderful that simply labeling them as “spiritual” seems almost insulting to the experience! And trying to reach these states by simply trying to be “spiritual” doesn’t seem to be very effective!

Objective Experiments

I wouldn’t be surprised if these states that I consider “beyond spiritual” can be accessed by you in the same way that I can.

Some objective ways to have roughly the same experience is through a large dose of psychedelic mushrooms or a good DMT journey. If I didn’t smoke DMT before I had that dream I highly doubt the dream would have been so intense, so there’s that to consider!

Something else you can try is cultivating a strong intention to have such a dream. If you do this I suggest asking yourself why you want such a dream and try to answer and heal yourself while you’re consciously reading this sentence. Perhaps you can even cultivate your intentions, go through as much healing as you can without DMT or wisdom dreams, take DMT, then you’ll have an increased chance of experiencing such a dream. Unfortunately, I’m already in the land of speculation so I’ll just say that DMT works for sure!

It’s All About Perspective

You’re reading the post of a dude on the internet through a certain perspective. I don’t know what it is, but it’s there. I encourage you to observe your own perspective and write down everything about it. I also encourage you to create the perspective you want for yourself and live it out to the best of your ability every single day.

That’s one of the more surefire ways to go “beyond spirituality” and really experience some cool things in your life!

Conclusion

I tell you about these things in the hope and desire for you to experience them, so I encourage you to have a “wisdom dream” as soon as you possibly can! Thank you for reading, I’ll see you in the next article 🙂
