The Truth Behind The ‘Make Money Online’ Niche

March 16, 2021 by Gabe Leave a Comment

Quick Facts

-Participating in the make money online niche can lead to the affectionally-named ‘make money online circle,’ or MMOC.

-This circle is fairly easy to escape from and when you do, you may find more and more meaning and satisfaction appearing in your life!

Intro

I don’t usually make posts like this, and I am not someone who is quick to judge anything or anyone. However, I’ve noticed a couple of interesting things about the make money online (MMO) niche. Many interesting things, as a matter of fact.

This post isn’t going to be an ‘exposure’ post, nor will I target any particular people, but I will tell you why and how it works (especially when combined with other niches that don’t do so well), and I will give you the overarching concept of what’s going on here!

So, grab your popcorn, and let’s begin!

What Money Does To Our Brain

It doesn’t take a scientific expert to figure out that anything that has to do with money, many of us are all eyes and ears.

If a YouTuber flashes their lambo on camera they’ll most likely get a ton of views compared to another YouTuber who does not. This is because we’ve been valuing money (currency in particular) as a species for a long, long time.

But, did you know that the promise of money can active the ‘risk-taking‘ part of our brain as well as the reward circuitry part of our brain? This means that if someone is really good at delivering a promise of a lot of money, they’re activating primal parts of our brain that tell us, “just go for it. It’ll work.”

To me, that’s a little deceitful! I understand that many MMO products and services are cheap nowadays, but it’s the principle of the thing – promising people a ton of money by working online gets their hopes up, even if the ‘guru’ has no idea what they’re talking about.

There are some people who genuinely understand how making money online works, and I’m quite grateful these people exist – they understand that it can be a struggle, a long process, something that doesn’t happen overnight (at least, not usually). These people often help us succeed whereas the other kinds of people make their quick buck and often fade away.

Plus, Each Website Is Nice and Appealing

Yeah, I’ve yet to come across a money-making website that doesn’t look like a lot of money was poured into it! Sometimes this is good, and a lot of the time, it’s to prove a point. “Yeah, I can throw $10k into a website. That’s because my program works! Buy it now!”

But take my website as an example – I spent no more than $150 for the Genesis framework and child theme that I’m using right now, and I gotta tell ya, it looks pretty darn nice! I didn’t spend a ton of money or have a ton of developers look at it, I just found what I wanted and went for it.

The truth is, a lot of these people put on a face to get their point across, whether their product works or not. They play on primal reward circuitry (whether they know it or not) and they make money by doing so, sometimes by intentionally scamming their audience. This leads me to my next point…

But, Here’s The Thing…

This is the meat and potatoes of the article, so I hope you’re paying attention!

Whether or not we’re scamming people or being 100% legitimate, there is a cycle I’ve dubbed the ‘make money online circle,’ or the MMOC, that we participate in whether we’re the teacher or the learner!

Let’s say we’re the teacher and that we’re being 100% authentic and genuine about making money online. We’re providing tips, resources, tools, programs, books, and/or plans for our audience to begin making money online all on their own. And, let’s say they’re working! A lot of people are finding success with our programs!

One thing to note, though, is that these “students” are probably going to enter the MMO niche right out of the get-go. And why wouldn’t they? It’s familiar, they see it works, and they have a pretty good idea about how to make the kind of content they need to succeed. However, this also means that they’ll emulate the teacher in many ways – they’ll provide tips, resources, tools, programs, books, and/or plans for their audience so they can begin making money from home!

Do you see the circle? Often enough, those who teach others how to MMO are teaching them to enter the MMO niche, which can be seen as a kind of “positive trap.” Positive in the sense that we’re making money and we’re learning how to survive, but a trap in the sense that we aren’t learning or teaching anything substantial beyond that.

Of course, some “students” take what they learn and apply it to other niches such as relationships or tech, thereby breaking the circle. However, some of us don’t break the circle and stay in the niche forever, and I almost feel sad for these people – they didn’t deserve the fate they found themselves in, and often, they’ll think it’s too late to turn back and start again.

So… Is The Whole Thing A Scam?

I’d like to clarify that, at the end of the day, this isn’t too big of a deal unless you’re like me – someone who likes to learn and teach things that are deep and substantial. It can be a trap if you have other, better things you want to do in your life other than teaching others how to make money online, but if you don’t mind, then you simply don’t mind.

I suppose the whole thing can sound like a scam, even if you’re doing it extremely authentically. After all, if all you’re doing is selling products to other people so they can learn how to sell products to other people, then it kind of sounds like a glorified pyramid scheme! On the other hand, you can view the MMO niche as a place to learn and grow your marketing skills. You can take what they have to say into account as you continue to grow and thrive in your life.

Personally, I don’t think the entire idea itself is a scam unless the person selling their products is a scammer themselves. I definitely don’t want to write for this niche as I feel I have better things to write about, however, that comes down to personal preference, it’s not a conscious avoidance. Do you feel me? 🙂

What We Can Do!

Let’s say you’re knee-deep in the MMO niche, whether you’re a teacher, student, or student aspiring to be an MMO teacher. Honestly, it doesn’t matter which one you believe yourself to be!

First, I recommend you read the meat and potatoes again, and second, I want you to realize that you’re more than the money you make through the internet. You have dreams, goals, hobbies, friends, likes and dislikes, beliefs, and perspectives! When we’re operating in the MMO niche, it can be easy to forget all of that and judge ourselves by the numbers we see coming in (or not coming in) every month. I’ve made that mistake before, and I certainly don’t want to see you do it! Go ahead and pursue whatever else you want to pursue whether that be travel, reading, exercising, you name it. That’ll help you get out of the circle and live your life the way you truly want to on another level!

Also, you can view my $19.99 pamphlet on how you can actually make money online. I’m going to increase the price soon, so go ahead and buy it now!

*Smiles*

Final Thoughts

Making money while I’m writing about the things I’m writing about isn’t easy, however, I find much more meaning from it than writing about relationships or money, even though I’m knowledgeable in both subjects. Sometimes it’s tempting to join the pack and do what they do since they make a lot of money, but I’m going to stick to the path I’m on and keep going since this is where I want to go!

Conclusion

Thank you for reading my article, I truly appreciate it! I’ll see you in the next one 🙂

On Serotonin

December 12, 2020 by Gabe Leave a Comment

Quick Facts

-While serotonin makes us feel good, it also helps reduce depression and anxiety, it helps us sleep, it helps us form blood clots, it reduces your libido (in a good way), and more!

-We can produce more of it with exercise, manual labor, and meditation!

Intro

Serotonin is almost a household name at this point! We’re told it’s good for us and that we produce it through exercise and meditation. We usually associate the feeling of a good level of serotonin with confidence. And, it’s more important than most of us realize!

Why Is Serotonin So Important?

The main reason we find it so interesting is that it’s thought to regulate our mood. It’s also thought to regulate anxiety and decrease depression.

I say thought because, according to the source I’m deriving my information from, we don’t know if serotonin does this for sure. However, we do know that SSRIs usually help cure depression, and the way they do that is by keeping some of your serotonin from going from your brain to your bloodstream, which means they just regulate the serotonin you already produce. So, by using a bit of logic, we can say that serotonin 100% helps with depression and anxiety.

It’s also helpful because it helps you regulate your bowel movements, it helps you up-chuck when you’re sick, it helps you sleep, it helps you form blood clots, it reduces your libido, it helps you be more emotionally stable, calmer, more focused, and generally happier.

It really is a miracle molecule in a lot of ways! I remember working in Texas and sorting out my mind; I was very, very depressed at the time and I did a lot of mental rearranging and healing so that I could be mentally healthy. But I wasn’t very physically active with my job, so I didn’t have a lot of serotonin flowing through my system! If I had known that upping the flow of serotonin through a healthy diet and exercise was so important I would have exercised a lot more than I did – it would have been very, very nice.

How Can We Produce More Of It?

If you’re feeling depressed, chances are you’ll benefit from producing more serotonin in your body. I don’t think many of us need SSRIs since there are some things we can do to naturally produce more serotonin in our bodies. We can:

-Expose ourselves to sunshine and sun lights.

-Exercise regularly.

-Consistently partake in a healthy diet.

-Meditate. I will personally vouch for this because I can meditate while repeating “I choose to produce more serotonin” and I will instantly feel better! I also say “I choose to produce more DMT” and that definitely works as well 🙂

Final Thoughts

I’m hesitant to encourage you to take SSRIs for two reasons in particular: they lose their effectiveness over time and they may be a cause for stomach issues. The reason I think this is because SSRIs prevent some of the serotonin your brain produces from going into your bloodstream. That’s all well and good, except your intestines use serotonin to regulate your bowel movements; if less serotonin is reaching your lower body via your bloodstream this could be causing some problems. Seeing Jordan Peterson have so many stomach problems while taking SSRIs makes this a solid hypothesis, in my opinion.

Also, if you naturally produce less serotonin than you feel you need, it seems like it’s a constant effort to manually encourage the correct amount of production. That means consistently exercising and meditating for the rest of your life. But hey, life’s pretty good when you feel good! 🙂

Conclusion

Thank you for reading my article! I encourage you to produce as much serotonin as you feel is right, and I’ll see you in the next post!

Self-Improvement and Realization – Why One Works and the Other Doesn’t

January 29, 2020 by Gabe Leave a Comment

Quick Facts

-Self-improvement is where we improve our skills, and self-realization is realizing who we already are.

-Self-realization is what happens when we look into our inner world and realize ourselves!

-SR is often greater than self-improvement since self-improvement ultimately leads to the opportunity to realize ourselves.

-Identifying with ‘the improver’ almost always makes it more difficult to improve ourselves to the furthest extent we’re capable of!

-When we realize who we truly are, we almost always see how beautiful we truly are…

Intro

We see the call for self-improvement everywhere – schools, colleges, gyms, workplaces, training programs, various kinds of sports, and of course the infamous “self-improvement” communities that are scattered around if you look hard enough.

The game of self-improvement has become the game to play when I speak for American society, and if you show no interest in the game then finding people you can befriend will be difficult since everybody is busy “improving” themselves in one way or another.

It’s also come to my attention that some of my writings come dangerously close to saying something to the extent of, “You should improve yourself in order to feel better.” This is not the intention of my writings; my writings exist to help you find the silence in your life, whether that means a silent mind, a change of environment, wisdom to help you handle your chatty friends and family, etc.

Today I’d like to make a case against self-improvement and for self-realization, since I have observed “realized” people and “self-improvement” people and have come to the conclusion that realized people generally have better lives than self-improvement people (please note that the word “better” implies that self-improvement must take place in order for an individual to become realized. This is not the case and I simply use it for lack of terminology).

I’ll articulate the two main problems with self-improvement and then I’ll explain what I mean when I say that somebody should “realize” themselves. Grab your popcorn because this one’s going to be fun!

The Improver

The idea of improving yourself is simple; you start out at point A and you want to get to point B. However, since you don’t have the presence of mind, physical fitness, or confidence to do such a thing you need to improve yourself in order to do so, and this can be done through schooling, studying through other means, working out, having somebody train you, going to yoga class, or even meditation.

Of course, the end result of this improvement is a feeling of competence, confidence, and worthiness in the society in which you live (which you can have right now if you choose to, but more on that below). However, there’s one small problem with this; if you’re improving yourself then who is improving the improver? And of course who is improving the improver of the improver?

This gets pretty trippy if you’re the one improving yourself because eventually, you have to ask, “Which part of me is improving and which part of me is the improver? And which part of me is responsible for improving the improver, and which part of me is responsible for improving the improver of the improver?!”

We can already see that self-improvement cannot work because every improver needs improving, and who is going to improve the final improver? We can argue that a circle of people can manage to improve each-other as a group, and while that is possible there is still one more problem…

Pain

To “improve yourself” you must go through the “struggle” or the “tunnel” or whatever one might call it so that he or she can be more steady and secure in the future. This means going through a lot of pain (physically, psychologically, or both) in order to train your body, go to school, work those long hours, or whatever it is you do.

This is a tragic model of life because it simply doesn’t work like this. Pain leads to more pain and pleasure leads to more pleasure. If you’re experiencing pain as a result of trying to improve yourself then it’s more than likely that you’ll end up in a place of responsibility that produces more of the feeling you want to feel! In other words, you want to feel the pain that you feel when you go through “self-improvement” then who’s to say that you don’t want it to go away when you’ve “fully improved,” if you even get to that point?

It should be noted that learning/doing something because you’re interested in it is not the same as learning/doing something because you think you “have to;” if you work out, study, etc because it’s interesting to you then more power to you. I am mainly speaking about those who do something because “it’s good for them;” this mindset points to an unspoken assumption that can be summed up in a sentence such as “I am no good as I am and I need to be better.”

The Realization

This assumption, “I am no good as I am and I need to be better” is simply a thought, a feeling of shame, or both. When the self-improver realizes this he or she becomes liberated from the cycle and their emotional pain turns into a feeling of relief as if they had just dropped their backpack after a twenty-mile hike.

I make the case for self-realization because it is the actual antidote to self-improvement! If someone really thought it through they would realize that they never had to improve because they’ve always known what they’ve wanted to do all along, and it probably didn’t have anything to do with what they were doing to “improve” themselves at all.

How Do I Realize Myself?

It’s important to consciously shift your mindset from the “improver” to the “realizer” because otherwise, the heading above will sound like another tactic for self-improvement. However, realizing your self is simple; pay attention to your thoughts, your feelings, and your environment around you. Pay attention to the one who pays attention to your thoughts, and then pay attention to that one. This is meditation at its core; it is not a tool but a state of understanding yourself and the world around you.

Doing this is frighteningly simple, and when you realize that you can start manifesting your own feelings into your life (competence, confidence, worthiness, connection, love, bliss, you name it!) then people will start to heal simply by standing in your presence on their own path towards realizing the same thing. It’s truly wonderful.

The Urgency

I urgently encourage you to shift your mindset from the “improver” to the “realizer” as quickly as possible. We (Americans, at least) are in a society that is so greatly focused on self-improvement that they’re hurting themselves and everybody/everything else around them.

Instead of this, it’s very important to seek self-realization and to develop an understanding of the world inside of them and the world around them while consciously deciding to do away with self-improvement.

This is a vital change that must happen soon if we’re going to thrive as a species, and it starts with you, the reader. Or readers. It’s possible that more than one person is reading this post on the same computer. I don’t know :).

Conclusion

Thank you so much for reading my article! I greatly appreciate you being here, and I’ll see you in the next one :).
