The Difference Between a Belief and a Psychic Fact

March 6, 2021 by Gabe Leave a Comment

Quick Facts

-A belief is a repeating thought and/or audio pattern that’s emotionally charged, and often acted out!

-A psychic fact is an observable psychic constant, like how a tree is an observable physical constant!

-While it can be difficult, discerning between beliefs and psychic facts (especially psychic facts about ourselves) has great potential to help us be whole and healthy!

Intro

In this article, we’ll be separating belief from psychic fact in an attempt to form a more complete understanding of our psyche. The more complete our understanding, the more control, wholeness, and peace we have the potential to feel! Are you excited? Me too! Let’s get started!

Why Is It Important To Know This?

By now, I’m confident you know the power of belief, and that our beliefs can shape our lives for better or for worse. It’s very likely that we’re carrying and acting out a certain set of beliefs, perhaps they were created by us, and perhaps they were not, and that our lives are predetermined to the extent that we’re acting them out.

But, how do we know about the power of belief? How do we know that beliefs often shape the way we live our lives, whether we know about it or not? This is where ‘psychic observation’ comes in, or observing the metaphysical portions of ourselves and others. It is through this observation that I discovered that the beliefs we identify with really do determine how we live our lives, and it’s very easy to say that this is a ‘psychic fact.’

Psychic facts tend to be very helpful since they serve as ‘platforms’ to build on and tools to shape our lives with. Also, many psychic facts tend to be regenerative in nature, even if they don’t seem like this on the surface, and this is one of many reasons why I consider it very important to know as many psychic facts as humanly possible!

What Is A Belief?

Let’s start with my definition of a belief. I see a belief as “a repeating thought and/or audio pattern that is usually emotionally charged, and physically/psychically acted out.” If someone believes in God, for example, they will most likely read the bible, go to church, and believe that they must act according to his word, among other things. If someone believes that it’s tough to survive out there, they will most likely make life harder on themselves (sometimes over a long period of time) and keep themselves from having everything except what they believe they need to survive.

Every time we experience an emotion, it’s most likely connected to a belief (or belief system) we hold. This is because most beliefs are emotionally charged. If I were to walk up to a survivalist and say, “you’re surviving in a world that’s tough. It’s hard to make it nowadays,” I’ll probably garner a positive response. However, if I say to them “it isn’t that hard to make it will all of the advancements we’ve made, you can do it,” they’ll probably tire of me fairly quickly.

While this seems simple in concept, it can be much different as a felt experience, especially if our beliefs are shattered. If one partner truly believes that the other is loving, and the other begins to show characteristics that contradict this belief, the negative response can feel absolutely devastating and can lead to poor lifestyle choices that, sometimes, affect them for the rest of their lives.

If I never observed any negative consequences from holding any kind of belief, I wouldn’t be writing this post. But, in fact, some solutions can be equipped and applied when it comes to problems like these, and that leads me to my next answer.

What Is A Psychic Fact?

A psychic fact is a psychic occurrence that completely and totally, is. Just like we can observe a tree growing out of the ground, we can observe a psychic fact by looking within ourselves and watching other people.

For example, it’s a psychic fact that we create and hold on to our own beliefs, even if we claim that certain beliefs come from other people. We can be influenced or told to believe a certain belief, but we ultimately use our own psychic energy to keep the belief within our being. It’s also a psychic fact that we seek to communicate, even if we aren’t aware of the part(s) of our personality that wants to do the communicating.

These kinds of facts can be very, very useful when taken all the way. We can deduce something like, “since I hold onto my own beliefs, and since I can assign emotions to said beliefs, does that mean that my negative emotion is caused by XYZ belief? If so, I choose to disidentify from it so that I can control and transform this part of myself instead of letting it control me!”

How Can We Tell The Difference?

This part can be very, very tricky since beliefs and psychic facts can practically look like the same thing. But let’s take a look at one of my assertions, “we create and hold onto our own beliefs.”

You may be wondering, “isn’t it just a belief that we create and control our beliefs?” or something to that extent.

If I’m ever questioning myself about it, I always like to answer it, and to do that I start looking around at other people. Do they act it out? Do they notice that they’re acting it out? What happens if I give 100 people with very different belief systems this kind of knowledge, does it have the same effect for each and every one of them? Does everyone have this alleged “psychic ability” that I proclaim they have? So on and so forth.

Since collective psychic facts are the same across all minds and belief systems, I can usually come to a very solid conclusion very quickly. With this claim, in particular, I can answer with a yes! People do create, hold onto, and act out their own beliefs, objectively, without question!

Then I put it through another ‘filter question,’ “is this simply a belief that’s believed by the masses and posing as a psychic fact?” This is when I begin to look within myself for the answer, especially through meditation and paying attention to my dreams. In this particular case, I began disidentifying from every belief that I held so that I could have a clearer grasp of the truth (among other things). Suddenly, after enough research and subjective exploration, I found that almost every person on this planet can control their beliefs in one way or another and that this is, indeed, a psychic fact.

The more subjective and intuitive the process of finding psychic facts, the more precious and “constant” the discoveries tend to be. Trusting yourself when you ask yourself, “Is so and so a belief, or a constant reality?” is a great example of this since intuition always responds in a high vibration.

I’m gifted in the sense that I can easily discern between a psychic fact and a strongly-held belief. Gifted, or perhaps I developed this skill without really noticing it. I do know that it’s possible to develop this as a skill and figure out which truths are “lesser truths” (beliefs, etc) and which truths are “greater truths” psychic facts, etc).

How Can We Gather Psychic Facts For Ourselves?

Ahh yes, my favorite part of the post! How can we gather and apply these kinds of facts in our own lives?

From my experience, psychic facts that apply to you, you wonderful individual, are often what matter the most! So, it’s easy and quite effective to start with an emotion you feel and go from there!

“I know that I feel down. Why? Oh, it’s because I didn’t achieve my goal. Why do I let myself get down if I don’t achieve my goal? Because if I don’t, then goals mean nothing right? Actually, no, I don’t have to let myself get down as much as I do, I’ll just tell myself that I have to keep going! My emotional state doesn’t have to change, I just have to keep going!”

In this example of inner dialogue, our example character finds a few PFs – they feel down because they didn’t achieve their goal. They believe they need to put themselves down or else the goal will mean nothing. They realize that they don’t need to put themselves down. With these in mind, they can shift their mindset in the correct direction and be easier on themselves when they don’t achieve their goals.

They could go even further with this and ask, “why do I have these particular goals, anyway? Because I want money and emotional fulfillment. Is there a better way to obtain and retain these things besides being an accountant? Yes, there is! And it is to be a rafting guide!”

While the last two sentences are beliefs, they are positive, regenerative beliefs, so I’ll let them slide ;). The PF to be found here is the discovery that they want money and emotional fulfillment – this isn’t a belief, even if the want is created by a belief or a belief system! You can see how wanting to obtain psychic facts can lead to positive changes and experiences, sometimes leading to long-term wholeness and fulfillment.

Meditation, observation, dreamwork, and psychedelics are effective ways of gathering psychic facts as well. Observation of other people is a fantastic way to begin gathering psychic facts that are objective and shared by others, meditation and dreamwork are great ways for gathering both individual and collective psychic facts, and psychedelics… Well, they blow everything out of the water anyway, lol.

I always recommend questioning whether or not your new discovery is a belief or a psychic fact. Putting them through the tests (and any tests you create on your own) will help you determine one way or the other, and it isn’t fundamentally bad if it turns out to be a belief! Then, at least, you have an answer 🙂

Final Thoughts

Since beliefs and psychic facts can be almost identical, I wouldn’t be surprised if a lot of us have trouble finding “the diamonds in the rough,” however, I suspect that some among us will be quite talented at the same time!

It’s hard to truly convey the importance (and psychic rewards) of knowing these different facts. Maybe I’ll make a compilation of the facts I’ve discovered up until this point, and the processes I used to find them. I’d like some feedback from you, would you like to see a post like that? 🙂

Conclusion

Thank you so, so much for reading my post! This information took me a while to gather, and I truly hope you’ll take it all the way and find a ton of psychic facts for yourself. See you in the next one!

Subconscious Beliefs/Feelings Controlling Everything

December 7, 2020 by Gabe Leave a Comment

Quick Facts

-Many people have beliefs and emotions in their subconscious that run the show.

-Realizing which beliefs and emotions are the most problematic puts them in our conscious minds. Then we can write them down, let them play mentally play themselves out, disidentify from them, have complete control, transform them into other beliefs and feelings, and completely enjoy them for what they are!

Intro

Sometimes we do things and we don’t know why. We believe things and we don’t know why. We have certain opinions, but we don’t know why we have these opinions.

Welcome to the subconscious, the part of your mind that is unseen and very, very powerful! If we bring suffering upon ourselves and we don’t consciously understand why we are probably acting out some beliefs that we hold in the part of our mind we cannot see… I’ll explain what’s going on in this post!

The Conscious and The Subconscious

Jung was the one who expanded on this the most, that is, that there’s a conscious and a subconscious part of our minds. He considered it a psychic fact that it exists, and after observing it myself, I have to agree.

The conscious mind is what we use and see every day. It’s the first thing we see when we meditate, it’s the part that we use in everyday life, it’s what we pay attention to. The subconscious mind is the part that’s unobserved, hidden, and often extremely powerful.

We can access some of the subconscious, however, it’s so vast, deep, and meaningful that even a full breakthrough DMT trip doesn’t show us all of it, and that’s the most powerful psychedelic of them all! Yes, it shows us most of it and it’s worth doing with the correct set and setting, just to throw it out there :p

Often what happens is we don’t make any effort to pay attention to the beliefs we hold in our subconscious, and since we don’t these beliefs tend to run our lives!

The Subconscious Is Extremely Powerful

We’re talking infinite magnitudes of metaphysical power! The difference between holding a belief consciously and subconsciously is like night and day. Not to say that conscious beliefs aren’t powerful, but subconscious beliefs are usually much, much more powerful than conscious beliefs.

Let’s create a hypothetical example – let’s say Dylan consciously believes that he works hard but needs to work harder. However, Dylan also subconsciously picked up a belief when he was a child that goes something like, “it’s okay if you don’t work hard because everything’s going to be handed to you anyway.” This is a conflict of belief and it isn’t uncommon to observe these conflicts in regular people.

Dylan tries to work harder than he usually does but, for some reason, he keeps sabotaging himself over and over again. He doesn’t know why he’s doing this and it makes him frustrated, and this frustration leads to the creation of another subconscious belief, “I’m just not capable of working any harder than I am now… That’s bad and it makes me sad.”

You can see where this can become a vicious cycle; if the subconscious didn’t override the conscious so often there wouldn’t be very many problems, however, I’m almost 100% certain that the subconscious mind takes precedence over the conscious mind in everyone alive today, and that that’s an objective fact that can be observed through meditation and watching the actions of yourself and others.

But of course, hope is not lost – after all, the beliefs are still beliefs that are making their way into your conscious life, and this means that the beliefs wish to become conscious and that you’re able to become fully conscious of them. I’m paraphrasing Jordan Peterson when I say, “there may be 100 dragons but you only have to deal with the 1 that’s in your way,” meaning that when a subconscious detrimental belief is controlling you or producing undesired results in your life it’s the one subconscious entity you’ll benefit from dealing with the most!

Some Solid Solutions

Okay, so Dylan realizes that he has some detrimental subconscious beliefs going on – what can he do to realize and change himself?

The first solution has to do with paying attention to how he thinks, how he feels, and how he acts. He pays close attention to how he normally feels, and he pays close attention to how he feels right before he begins sabotaging himself. When it’s about to happen he catches himself and stays still instead of doing whatever he was about to do. Then he asks the question, “why do I feel this way? What are the core beliefs that generate this feeling?” He answers himself honestly, asks any more questions that naturally follow… Eventually, he’ll be conscious of the beliefs that were subconscious just a while ago, and then he can stop believing them/replace them/change them/modify them.

The second solution is to stay still and quiet for a certain amount of time and simply pay attention to what’s happening in his mind. If he chooses to open his 3rd eye he can see what’s going on and he’ll observe his thoughts as they come and go, all without consciously doing anything. Being like this for a while will eventually be enough to completely overshadow and solve the issue(s), although it’s often easier said than done since staying still can be quite difficult.

He can also integrate. He can start integrating himself without even intending to find/deal with the actual problem, come across it anyway, and become psychically whole, which brings about its own set of benefits.

He can create art that expresses the feeling(s) that are trying to be seen and heard. He doesn’t necessarily need to be good at producing art to do this, simply the act of “putting pen to paper” will be quite enough.

He can use psychedelics to help himself out. He can let them lead him to the path that’s best for him or he can use psychedelics to boost the effectiveness of any of the methods explained above!

Some things that definitely don’t work are picking up new hobbies to avoid the issue, choosing to ignore it, or otherwise solving it incorrectly. If Dylan entertained himself when he could have been finding the core beliefs that caused his misery his situation would have probably become much worse!

Final Thoughts

I want to touch on the ones who find this area of life silly and/or completely unnecessary. Ironically enough, the resistance these kinds of people possess almost always keeps them from living a fulfilled life. A lot of the time they’re even proud of their ignorance, and it can be dangerous to be around these kinds of people.

I feel as if they need some kind of subliminal messaging to get through to them, IE, speaking the sentence “I enjoy being conscious and I make an effort to be conscious” to them at a sound level of roughly 15 decibels – they can’t consciously tell that the words are being spoken to them, but their subconscious mind picks up on it and takes it to heart.

I wouldn’t be surprised if musicians and advertising companies are already doing this without telling anybody… Why do I feel so good when I watch a commercial, better than I feel when I’m watching the video I clicked on? Hmm, maybe it’s subliminal messaging!

Also, I’m not saying that going through this process is easy – just because it’s of the mind doesn’t mean it’s a simple task to do. But, I am saying that it’s worth digging up and disidentifying from your detrimental subconscious beliefs, I promise that the pain is only temporary and short-term 🙂

Conclusion

Thank you for reading! It’s difficult for me to write about this because I want it to be as perfect as I can manage, and I’m positive that I’ve explained the process properly 🙂

I’ll see you in the next article!

A Positive, Regenerative, Conscious Belief System

November 18, 2020 by Gabe Leave a Comment

Quick Facts

-It’s very helpful to assume a positive, conscious, regenerative, loving belief system if your current belief system isn’t serving you very well.

-You can always change it and rearrange it to apply to you and your current circumstance!

Intro

I’m glad you made it! You’re reading a post about positive, regenerative, conscious beliefs so I’m quite impressed.

As many of us know beliefs are a very powerful part of our life. Our beliefs can very well be filters for our actions if we embody and act them out, so everyone knows this and does their best to create and live out an amazing belief system that does wonders for them, right?

I wish. But I choose to take it a step beyond a wish – I choose to create an amazing belief system that you can (most likely) adopt and have your life go in an upward spiral. Please keep in mind that this probably isn’t as effective as you creating your own belief system and that it isn’t as effective as not believing anything at all (the state of the mystic). With that said, let’s check it out!

What Counts As A Solid Belief System?

Let me be very careful so I don’t fall into the land of belief while I answer this question:

A solid belief system enables survival, health, sexuality positivity, love, communication, understanding, and the advancement of consciousness.

Why? Well, we have to survive if we’re going to keep playing the game the way we’re playing it. Sexuality, of course. I include psychological, emotional, and physical health since being in pain lowers our chance of survival and since it’s usually an undesirable feeling/way to be. I feel like positivity goes beyond simply being healthy in the sense that it’s regenerative and that it feels good, and because it seems like that’s what life’s all about I’m a certain sense.

Love, of course. Communication because giving and receiving signals that can be transformed into imaginative images and understanding enables our survival and expansion of consciousness. And because understanding and the expansion of consciousness seem to be meaningful and pursuable phenomena in and of themselves!

I include no more and no less because survival, positive feelings, expansion, and more seem to be the name of the game! I’m certainly opposed to any beliefs that are self-limiting, beliefs that aren’t an accurate representation of reality, beliefs that hurt the believer and everyone around them, etc.

What Are The Benefits of A Great Belief System?

Why adopt an amazing belief system, anyway? Isn’t it better to go with what you believe already?

For some, maybe! However, I wish I had a belief system to adopt when I was younger, I was simply a giant mess. My beliefs were all out of whack and I suspect that writing this down will help you if you’re anything like me!

The benefits, of course, are uninhibited survival, the creating and sustaining of positive emotion including passion, sexuality, confidence, love, intuition, knowledge, and more, the giving and receiving of meaningful communication, the obtaining and sustaining of knowledge and understanding, and the advancement of your self-awareness, self-liberation, and overall consciousness. How does that sound?

The Beliefs

Here are the beliefs themselves:

Survival – “I deserve to survive with no inhibitions.”

“Surviving is easy and effortless.”

“I find fulfillment through taking care of my responsibilities.”

The creating and sustaining of positive emotion – “I feel passionate.”

“I feel sacred.”

“I feel sexual.”

“I feel pleasure.”

“I feel humored and humorous.”

“I feel confident.”

“I feel enthusiastic.”

“I feel love.”

“I feel intuitive”

“I feel like I know.”

“I sustain my positive emotion as long as I choose to.”

“Negative emotion does not distract me from the fact that I am in control of my own emotions.”

Communication – “I communicate effortlessly.”

“I regularly give and receive meaningful communication.”

Knowledge and understanding – “I regularly give and receive meaningful knowledge”

“I understand everything I prompt myself to understand.”

The expansion of consciousness – “I keep an open mind.”

“I regularly expand my consciousness.”

“I choose to open my 3rd eye and keep it open.”

Creating A Belief System

What I’ve added above is a solid body that covers the bases! I have done my best to create a belief system that effortlessly intertwines with itself since cooperation seems to be more meaningful and more effective than competition.

Feel free to add any beliefs you wish to add! You know your situation better than I do so I greatly encourage you to take that into consideration and create your own belief system, like I’ve mentioned above. But if you feel quite depressed, lost, or if you don’t know where to start, here you go!

Conclusion

Thank you so much for reading my article! I’ll see you next time 🙂

The Extreme Power of Belief

November 4, 2020 by Gabe Leave a Comment

Quick Facts

-Beliefs are extremely powerful. What you believe (consciously and subconsciously) most likely determines how you live your life!

-Beliefs are powerful because of the emotions they can summon.

-You can create and disidentify from beliefs! If you do these two things you can create and have complete control of your mental reality, and your mental reality is mirrored in the physical world 🙂

Intro

Almost all of us believe something! It doesn’t have to be religious and perhaps we believe in a casual sense, but almost all of us know what it’s like to believe something even if we aren’t consciously aware that we do so, and I doubt this comes as a surprise to you.

What may surprise you is how powerful beliefs actually are! When you believe the right things and when you believe them in the right way you will have great power and great influence, and in a good way!

What Is A Belief?

A belief is a repeating thought pattern that’s (usually) emotionally charged. Also, our beliefs are often sources of emotional polarity, meaning we feel positive whenever they’re agreed with and negative whenever they’re disagreed with.

An auditory thought and a belief are different because thought is fleeting, whereas a belief is a thought that’s repeated, reaffirmed, and emotionally charged over a long period of time.

Even just knowing this one truth puts you in a position to take care of yourself! But more on that in the section below.

The True Power of Belief

What tends to happen is we tend to identify with our beliefs and let them decide how we physically act, how we interact with other people, and how other people interact with us. This means that we can create a live out a set of beliefs that is very powerful and very regenerative to ourselves and others, and this is probably the best thing to do as far as beliefs are concerned.

Let’s say we identify with the belief “people love to give me money.” Since money is a positive thing and since such a belief implies that money comes effortlessly, there will be a stark absence of stress if you choose to believe it. An absence of stress usually means an increase in confidence and a state of relaxation, and both of these states are healthy, positive, and desirable for biological and psychological reasons. In other words, if you act from this belief, people will probably give you more money than if you didn’t act from this belief!

Let’s look at another belief, “life is tough, and surviving is difficult.” If you identify with this belief then you’ll be focused on surviving and not thriving, and you’ll also focus a lot of your time on being tough. You’ll probably spend a lot of time subconsciously sabotaging yourself so that surviving will be difficult to reaffirm the belief that surviving is difficult. You’ll hang around people who believe the same thing which will reaffirm your belief even more, which means you’ll probably pass on this belief to your children. Enough people are doing this at the moment to create a “survivalist world,” and I find it disgusting.

When you create and live by a belief you will literally do everything you can to reaffirm it since you subconsciously use it as a source of emotional polarity. But beyond this, identifying with a belief will also determine how other people interact with you as well since beliefs can control body language, your tone of voice, what’s being said, and your actions, all of which are picked up by others fairly quickly! Belief can be quite strong in either a positive or a negative sense, and identifying with them can make it better or worse depending on the belief.

How It Can Be Positive, and How It Can Be Negative

It’s worth mentioning that most of us have a mixture of positive and negative beliefs, and that sometimes these beliefs even contradict each other. We can believe that working hard is the right thing to do but we can simultaneously believe that surviving is difficult, and identifying with these two beliefs make for an entire life of hard work and constantly being broke.

It can be positive when you ask yourself, “what do I believe?,” write all of your beliefs down, write down a set of beliefs you’d like to adopt, disidentify from the beliefs you don’t want to live out anymore, and adopt the ones you want! How it can be negative is by simply doing nothing and letting your negative beliefs fester, or by adopting more negative beliefs for one reason or another.

It’s also worth pointing out that one belief can invoke a certain kind of emotion, and that emotion can invoke other beliefs and emotions. There is such a thing as a “core belief” where one belief is lived out and other beliefs and emotional experiences are created from that core belief. This is great when positive beliefs are core beliefs! However I feel like many of us have negative beliefs as core beliefs, and that’s partly why it’s so hard to change from negative beliefs into positive beliefs.

How To Harness Beliefs For Yourself

Of course, we can harness beliefs for our own purposes! I greatly recommend forming a purpose that is in the best interest of your wellbeing and the wellbeing of everyone around you so that your beliefs will line up in a regenerative way!

How I do it is I write down my current beliefs and the beliefs I want to add into my subconscious. I change my current beliefs to be in line with my purpose (being regenerative to myself and other people) and I disidentify from the ones I don’t want to hold onto. Then, I consciously choose to add the new beliefs (IE, “I choose to believe that I’m powerful”) on a consistent basis.

Usually, it takes a week of affirmation to truly change and add beliefs, especially if I’m trying to change a core belief. Perhaps it will be longer or shorter for you, but I recommend following the way I do it because repetition is how your current beliefs got there in the first place!

If you choose to do this, and if you really believe the best things you can possibly believe you’ll be sitting pretty in one of the best places in the world, psychologically and emotionally speaking! Physical success won’t be far behind either, of course!

Conclusion

Understanding the true power of belief and how to harness it for positive purposes is the best way to live a healthy life (alongside psychedelics ;)). I truly hope this post is informative and helpful, and I’ll see you in the next article!

On Disidentifying From Thoughts and Feelings

January 13, 2020 by Gabe Leave a Comment

Quick Facts

-We can ‘disidentify’ from thoughts and feelings! This helps us take control of and change the subconscious parts of ourselves that aren’t good for us.

-Doing this for every thought and feeling that controls us gives us a kind of peace, enjoyment, and self-control that is unrivaled!

Intro

Sometimes our thoughts and emotions get the better of us, and we don’t know why we think and feel the way we do. Disidentifying from these thoughts and emotions is an amazing way to analyze and control them so that they work for us instead of the other way around. Read on to find out more! Enjoy the article!

The Basic Info!

It’s very common to have an image that we like to have for ourselves and put out to the world. Some of us identify with our favorite sports teams, some of us with the state we’re from, some of us with certain phrases that stuck with us from childhood, some of us with the things we own, some of us with our bodies, our minds, our friends, our family… The list of possibilities is infinite.

When we say that “so-and-so has a big ego” we’re pointing out that so-and-so identifies with their set of particular thoughts and feelings very closely, and if you say anything that sounds like you might be devaluing any of their favorites they’ll defend themselves as if you personally attacked them with the intent to hurt them (depending on how closely they’re identified with such thoughts/feelings).

Of course, if you’re identified with something you can always disidentify from it. It can be difficult to fully disidentify from some of the things you’ve identified with over the years (especially if you brought them on as a child) but we’ll go through why you should disidentify and how you can disidentify.

It’s important to note that disidentifying from thoughts and feelings, in particular, doesn’t mean you’re suddenly free from feeling these thoughts and thinking these feelings. The opposite is the case; disidentifying from a thought or a feeling will often increase its intensity for a short while, but instead of this thought/feeling happening in the background without your conscious knowledge of it, it can be fully observed and seen/felt for what it is. Once a subconscious process is seen for what it really is it no longer has any control over your thoughts or feelings, and every subconscious process disidentified from is one step closer to peace. It’s also important to note that you can only disidentify from thoughts and feelings – attachment to physical objects, people, and activities aren’t possible, it’s only possible to identify with and disidentify from the thoughts/feelings that are produced by such people/things/perspectives/activities.

How To Disidentify From Your Thoughts and Beliefs

From what I can tell there are three ways to approach this. The first and easiest way is to disidentify from something when it pops into your mind, even if you didn’t consciously search for it. This can be anything from a thought (“boy I hate it when so and so doesn’t do the dishes”) to a physical object that produces an emotional reaction (“that gun looks scary”) to an entire perspective that provokes a bothersome feeling (“what’s the point of life anyway?”). How you disidentify from the subject in question is you form a coherent sentence (“I hate it when such and such doesn’t vacuum the carpet”) and you think of a coherent sentence that is meant to separate your conscious self from whatever you’re disidentifying with (“I choose to disidentify from that thought”).

Sometimes an emotion or a thought may pop up that you have trouble putting into words; if/when this happens it’s important to stop what you’re doing and focus your energy into putting the feeling/thought into a sentence. Once you’re able to fully articulate the feeling/thought it will be much easier to see it for what it is, and therefore it will be much easier to disidentify from it. Again, the point is to feel the feeling and/or think thoughtfully, not turn away from it.

The second way is by consciously searching for things that bother you and disidentifying from them. This can be tricky since you cannot find what you’re looking for by thinking in a linear, direct path; if you wish to search for subconscious forces you’ll have to let your mind take you wherever it wants to go, and the thought/feeling you end up with may not be the one you set out to find, but it will probably still need to be disidentified from nonetheless. For example, you might set out to find the root of your anxiety but your mind may take you to the root of some unexpected sadness instead, and it’s best to go along with it and feel what your mind takes you to instead of resisting it with your conscious intention.

The third (and possibly best) way is by utilizing your dreams to clearly see the parts of you that you need to separate from. I had this happen just last night – I had finished eating pizza before I went to sleep, and in my dream, I was in the car with a very fat man who was eating everything he was given by other people in the car (mainly donuts). What I learned is that there’s a part of me that likes to eat without caring about the consequences, and since I didn’t disidentify from it had more or less controlled me up until the next morning when I woke up and properly disidentified from it.

Either path you take, any thought/perspective you want to disidentify from must be done consciously. After you’ve expressed conscious intention to disidentify from xyz there will probably be resistance in the form of thought and/or feeling – after all, you’ve kept this part of you for a long time and it’s served you well, why should you give it up? However, staying awake and aware will allow you to fully process the subconscious thought/feeling, and you’ll either feel worse (which simply means there’s more work to do) or you’ll feel better (which means your job is done, at least at the moment). Both results are fantastic, and doing this even once in your life will bring you one step closer to genuine peace.

This is also known as “integration.” Disidentifying from and fully processing thoughts or feelings is the same as consciously acknowledging the parts of yourself that you neglect and integrating them into your life.

Why Is Disidentification Important?

Chances are you get angry and anxious. Everybody gets angry and anxious at one point or another, but there is something we can do to help this. If you’re a clinically healthy person (in other words if you haven’t been clinically diagnosed with general anxiety disorder or any of its variants) chances are you get angry and/or anxious because, somewhere down the line, someone has threatened a part of you that you’re identified with and you feel the need to defend it/yourself. If you have been clinically diagnosed then you’re probably going to need more help than I can provide in this post; however, it’s possible this may help you (the clinically diagnosed) as well, I’m not entirely sure.

Disidentifying will also help you find your bliss (some might say “source” or your “center”). Imagine what it would be like if you disidentified from everything you’ve identified with along the way? If you did this you wouldn’t be afraid of death, and if you aren’t afraid of death you are truly free. As a side note, try disidentifying from the fear of death; it’s very hard, but the benefits are endless.

Lastly, disidentifying from your “favorites” helps open your mind so that you can see the psychic processes that go on within you. This is part of finding your bliss but I put it as a separate benefit because it’s an entire journey in and of itself, one that’s certainly worth completing due to the massive amounts of meaning felt while discovering such things.

Becoming less angry and anxious? Becoming blissful? Opening your mind to the reality inside of yourself? If you want all of these things, you can buy my overpriced book that beats around the bush for 3/4s of the time and gives you a useless solution at the very end! Only $49.99! Buy now!

What Should You Disidentify From?

Everything that bothers you, and everything that’s detrimental to you. If you feel dull, sad, angry, anxious, etc and you don’t know why there’s usually something you haven’t fully realized that’s trying to come into conscious attention, and that is what you disidentify from. You shouldn’t worry about disidentifying from the “wrong” things because anything you feel the need to disidentify from is worth disidentifying from for one reason or another, and you’ll know exactly what they are once you begin the process for yourself.

Is There Anything Else?

I’ve done my best to provide the concept of disidentification in this post, but the felt reality of it can only be experienced if you try it out for yourself. And so I close with the promise that this path does eventually lead to bliss even though it is the path less traveled, and even along the way you will begin to feel complete and realized as a true individual. Have a wonderful day!
