On Depression

November 17, 2020 by Gabe Leave a Comment

Quick Facts

-Depression can result in a vicious cycle – a nasty thought appears in your head, you believe it, it makes you feel negative, you act out the negative emotion, and reaffirm the belief.

-This process can happen subconsciously!

-One of the best ways to break it is to ask yourself, “which beliefs are making me feel depressed?” When they appear you can write them down, ‘disidentify’ from them, and stop acting them out. Then you can create better, more positive beliefs!

Intro

I wrote a post about depression on my website already… Even though it’s helpful I want to go in a different direction with this post and leave the old one as it is, there’s another perspective I will adopt while writing about something as deep and dark as this!

The Cycle of Depression

A fundamental fact about depression is that it’s psychological and biological at the same time. Whether or not a depressed person’s depression originates from a psychological or a biological source should be analyzed on an individual basis but psychological problems breed biological problems and vice versa.

Let’s think this through – in a hypothetical scenario, I have 20 negative beliefs that I’ve completely identified with and act out. Since I’m acting out these beliefs I will probably slump my shoulders, unnecessarily tense my muscles (especially my neck and face muscles), chew my food improperly, have a sedentary lifestyle, accidentally injure myself because I’m not paying attention to where I go when I’m walking… My body definitely suffers whenever I act out detrimental beliefs, and when my body hurts more detrimental beliefs will form, and the cycle continues until something terrible happens.

Let’s go the other way – if you genuinely have a biological root for your depression (genes, a low serotonin production, etc) you will feel and act in a certain way. Feelings and actions often influence beliefs to form, and if you feel depleted or if you don’t feel good a lot of the time you may form detrimental beliefs from that state of being (although maybe not), and the cycle continues.

I have seen people who were so, so deep into the cycle. So deep you guys. Their mind was warped, their body was warped, and they were genuinely beyond repair unless the entirety of humanity came to the rescue all at once. I’ve been in a pretty bad spot myself, and I successfully climbed out of it by dealing with my detrimental psychological beliefs and by taking some physical substances!

How To Fix The Psychological Part

From what I’ve observed, most of the depression in most of the people who are depressed come from psychological sources. Usually, this means acting out detrimental beliefs and the suppression of one or more emotions.

It’s important to write down each and every detrimental belief that you hold, even if you don’t act it out. I say this but it can be easier said than done, it took me a long time to figure out each and every negative belief I picked up over the years. It doesn’t have to be all at once.

How you figure out what you believe is you either ask yourself, pay attention to how you feel, or open your 3rd eye and see the playing out of the belief as an image or a movie. When you’re paying attention to a feeling/image/movie you can ask yourself, “Why is this here? Which belief (or beliefs) brought this into my being?” You’ll use your intuition to answer yourself and then you can write the belief(s) down.

Once you’ve written your beliefs you can begin the self-analyzation part of it. I encourage you to take one belief at a time and disidentify from it, which essentially makes it so that the belief isn’t part of your ego, or worse, possessing you. You can keep expressing that you’re letting the belief go until you feel like you can objectively criticize it.

Then, objectively criticize it. I like asking questions such as, “why did I believe this? What purpose does it serve? What are some better beliefs to believe that get me what I want in a better way?” Once I understand why the belief is there and which beliefs can replace it I go ahead and throw the old belief away and replace it with the new ones. Sometimes I won’t even replace the old belief, I’ll just throw it away.

If you do this and you still feel depressed you still have some negative beliefs that you haven’t written down and disidentified from yet. Negative beliefs have a nasty habit of hiding from you when you look for them, so a bit of searching (in my case, years of searching) and a lot of patience is the key. However, once you have truly disidentified from every one of your negative beliefs I wouldn’t be surprised if your depression simply ceases to exist!

How To Fix The Biological Part

So, what if your depression stems from a biological source? What if you’re physically suffering from depression even if it started as a psychological issue?

This part is a lot easier to fix because we greatly value the physical world as opposed to the subjective world. You can go to any kind of doctor for any kind of pain and they will probably be able to treat you effectively, SSRIs do wonders for many people, and there are even ways to heal many chronic injuries.

I personally vouch for psychedelics, cannabis, psilocybin mushrooms, and DMT to be exact. The chemical psilocybin acts similarly to serotonin and it’s a better long-term solution than SSRIs since they tend to lose their effectiveness over time and psilocybin does not. The only reason they’re illegal is because they work, as I’ve explained before, but since they’re illegal you may have trouble finding/growing these things on a consistent basis. Thankfully, cannabis is easy to find/grow and you probably won’t have to take a whole lotta mushrooms before your biology becomes rewired for the better. DMT, of course, is a natural chemical that we produce so smoking it doesn’t do any harm to our biology whatsoever – quite the opposite.

Other Things To Know

If you’re in a depressive state I suspect that the most prominent belief looks something like, “it’s hopeless. It’ll never get better. No matter what anyone says I’m just going to suffer. Nothing works, nothing helps.”

I’ll address the last point and say that it simply isn’t true. It’s factually, objectively incorrect because even if you hold onto that belief as much as you possibly can, I know that 5 grams of psilocybin mushrooms will force you to let it go and heal anyways. Please keep in mind that just because you believe something doesn’t mean it’s necessarily an accurate reflection of reality.

Also, bringing yourself out of your depressive slump may not be that difficult. It may be very easy! However, I write this post for those who are like I was, extremely depressed with little to no hope of recovery. I’m writing this post for my past self because this is what I needed to hear, and so I wonder if it’s what you need to hear as well.

And one last thing, you can do it. No matter if someone in your family died, you had a terrible life, you have PTSD, it doesn’t matter – you can heal yourself from your psychological bullshart and become the healthiest person you know! I recommend doing the psychological work first and starting on your physical ailments right after 🙂

Conclusion

Thank you for reading! I hope that following the steps above will work for you, and I’ll see you in the next article!

On Competition

November 13, 2020 by Gabe Leave a Comment

Quick Fact

-We normally engage in competition to feel good, however, we can obtain the same feelings by other, more effective means!

Intro

Competition, as we very well know, is extremely popular in our modern society today. It comes in forms varying from sports to conversations to partners to wars, and it seems like we can’t get enough of it. Watching sports in America is so popular that it almost defines America, and of course almost every country values war, an extreme form of competition… So what gives?

You know, there’s a person in my life who is extremely hypercompetitive. He’s the most competitive person I’ve ever seen in real life or TV, and it’s ruining (or otherwise greatly inhibiting) his life on every possible dimension. I began to question the point and goal of competition before, but meeting this guy made me question it even more… Until I arrived at my stark conclusions! Let’s take a look at the nature of competition, shall we?

The Nature of Competition, What The Goal Is

So, we have two basketball teams trying to win a game. Why?

Part of this is simply a biological urge. Testosterone, to be exact – the higher your level of testosterone the more competitive you’re likely to be.

I’m fairly certain that we developed this chemical because we faced a lot of threats in our primal years. It helped by giving us the “alpha” mindset, “I deserve to live and you don’t,” and this mindset combined with physical strength made it possible for us to kill enough oncoming threats to survive into the modern age. We probably developed serotonin and/or dopamine alongside testosterone because our bodies wanted us to feel good right after we defended our families, almost as a source of motivation!

So nowadays we have many men who know how it feels to “win,” to be the alpha, to be dominant over others. We enjoy feeling good, so we compete in sports and try to win because we know winning feels good. Or we try to dominate the conversation. Or we boss our partner around. Or… Well, it can be a number of things. Plus, we feel other endorphins while our body is moving, and these feel great as well.

Competition is a very primal, biological state of being with a simple goal – survive and feel good. Often we don’t even know why we compete, but so much of our country and our world is so obsessed with it because we want to feel the good stuff, and because we don’t understand better ways of obtaining said good stuff.

The Positives and The Negatives

The positives are:

-Competition (competing in sports, etc) makes us feel good through physical movement and teamwork

-Competition where there isn’t much physical movement still feels good via winning and teamwork

-It’s easy and simple to initiate and carry out consistently.

-Almost everyone on the planet enjoys watching or participating in some form of competition, which means it’s a great way to relate to people.

And the negatives are:

-As it stands many of us are far too obsessed with it, some of us even going so far as to ignore our spouses and/or children to watch the game.

-it’s very very pushed in almost every single country in one form or another, we love to prioritize it over literally everything else. Consequently, many of us weren’t raised right and yearn for “the thing we can’t explain.”

-The majority of us who are consumed by competitive spirits often stay there for life, and that life is often a low-vibrational and unfulfilling life.

In my opinion, the negatives are far too detrimental to be ignored! Some of us have a healthy view towards competition and we take it quite lightly, but it’s worth continuing for the same of those who are simply enraptured by the competitive spirit.

How To Reach The Goal In Better (More Effective) Ways

Feeling good and surviving isn’t very difficult! It especially doesn’t require us to be consumed by competitive spirits – a healthy balance between healthy competition and doing other things in life will often be the best way to reach our goal of “surviving and feeling good.”

I encourage you to ask yourself, “in which areas of my life do I want to take action? Where do I cut back and where do I move forward? And why, exactly?” Once you know exactly where and why you want to take action, taking the action itself will probably feel more meaningful overall.

There are other ways such as deep meditation. You can choose to feel good whenever you want, and I especially direct this next point to the militarily-minded among us – psychedelics. Ironically, the ones who make and enforce the law against psychedelics are the ones who need (and benefit from) them the most!

Don’t discount a healthy diet, a healthy social life, and a healthy relationship. Learning how to build the necessary skills to have these things will take some time but I 100% recommend that everybody do this as well as you/they possibly can.

Conclusion

In the end, being too obsessed with competition isn’t very healthy for you or anyone around you. If you’re already healthy and you enjoy watching the game then that’s fine! But there are always different (dare I say, better!) ways to achieve the goal that competition wishes to achieve, especially when it comes to war. Every soldier should meditate and take psychedelics, period! Then they’ll see how great their war really is!

Thank you for reading! I’ll see you in the next article 🙂

Politics: A Detrimental Game, and Better Games To Play

October 27, 2020 by Gabe 1 Comment

Quick Facts

-Politics is an identity game on the surface with a few people who have power at the top of it. It also happens to be a mostly corrupt game, and that’s why there are better metaphysical games we should be playing!

-Some better games to play are the game of trust, self-improvement, self-realization, and the game of love!

Intro

In 1776 the founding fathers of America predicted that our government would eventually become corrupt if it was left unchecked by the people… And they hit the nail right on the head!

Now, don’t be misguided – politics is government. The president is chief of the armed forces and if the armed forces don’t follow the nature of government then I don’t know what does. After all, what happens when someone breaks the law? They are (perhaps after a long and drawn-out legal process) physically escorted either to jail or elsewhere. Without physical power the government is nothing… Right?

We the people have control over whether or not the government uses physical force to meet its ends, right? In fact, we can decide the future of America with our selection of who becomes president, right?

Well, I’ve got a juicy red pill coming up for you, so grab a glass of water and enjoy!

Why Does America Love Politics?

First of all, it’s exciting, especially in these modern times! Turning on the news to see what the people in power have to say can be enthralling partly because we believe we truly have power over whether or not they’re in office. And who doesn’t want to see the latest updates, which is the same as a dopamine rush?

The newscasters are experts at producing emotions inside of their viewers. Their words are smooth, they speak in a seductive tone of voice, their message is clear and concise – they really know what they’re doing. And, I don’t know if you’ve noticed this or not, but they slightly increase the bass so that their speakers sound more seductive than they actually are. They really figured out which vibration gets into the human head most profoundly and it happens to be a low-vibrational, seductive one.

Then, of course, they’re masters at “trying” to convince you to vote for their selective candidate. This means they want you to subconsciously assume you have power, that you are ultimately in control, and that they are only there to assist you in making a well-informed decision.

Why It’s A Nasty Game To Play

Let’s start with the agenda of the government itself – control.

Simple, right? With control comes money, and with money comes power. Control, money, and power, the triad of what influences each and every governmental action we see in America today.

So these news outlets? They sound nice, sure, but take a bird’s eye view for a moment and look at the big picture. Who do they work for? And who does who they work for? Ultimately you can trace it up to one person/group of people, and they are extremely happy with the position they’re in right now. They don’t give a crap about the people who unwittingly serve them, they simply want control and that’s it.

The news outlets, therefore, exist to control you, or more accurately, to keep you entertained and distracted from reading articles like this. They’re masters at producing dopamine and adrenaline in their audience, two chemicals that are addictive in nature. The more addictive chemicals they can produce in someone, the more that person will go back to the source to find their fix, the more their subconscious communication techniques influence their mind, the more they have control over said person. Not to mention the guests they bring on who are genuinely excited to be there and who genuinely expressing positivity – only because they don’t know who they’re speaking for and what their agenda is.

Since all presidents and potential presidents want control they are willing to say anything in order to obtain and retain it. Most of us already know that presidents lie their way into office and make promises they can’t keep! This goes for every level of politician, it isn’t a very prestigious job.

But besides all of this, it keeps us distracted from what’s really going on. I’ve been informed that NYC is arresting people if they speak a certain kind of language. It’s flat-out unconstitutional and detrimental to America as the great country it is (was?) but what they’ve been doing for many, many years is edging their way into power through news outlets, politicians, and physical force.

Of course, we have the power to stop this!

Better Games To Play

What can we do to stop tyranny? We can collectively decide that we want to play a different game, and when enough of us begin throwing politics in the trash others will follow along as well. So then, what to replace politics with?

The first game that will work is the psychedelic game. Integrating psychedelics into our country and treating them as if they’re bananas (that is, nonchalantly) is a great game to play since psychedelic substances are anti-tyrannical and pro-wellbeing in nature. I’ve written a post on introducing psychedelics into modern society here.

Another game that will work is a country constructed to award those who have well-being, creativity, good hearts, and intelligence. As it stands right now we are best rewarded through lying, manipulation, and the general mistreatment of other people, and this isn’t a sustainable or healthy way to live whatsoever. Being healthy (psychologically, emotionally, and physically), creative, loving, and intelligent should put you in a position of leadership instead of the other way around, and this is something we can collectively decide to value and live out. Playing this game automatically means that our highest priority changes from money to health, which works well in the long run.

The third game that works is the game of self-improvement and self-realization. We should be rewarded the more we improve and the more we realize ourselves and rewarded less the more we lie and the more we manipulate. A person who is enlightened should not only receive emotional gifts but physical gifts (money) as well since people like this are always regenerative to themselves and others.

Conclusion

In conclusion, we choose to play the game of politics but in reality, it’s detrimental to our wellbeing and therefore a waste of time. Collectively choosing to value the right things over control, power, and money will keep our country from plunging into the dark end!

I encourage you to really ponder this subject and to share this article with your friends and family. Consider yourself red-pilled! 🙂

The Alucard Abridged Effect: What’s Great About Hellsing Ultimate Abridged

October 21, 2020 by Gabe Leave a Comment

Quick Facts

-Team FourStar made an amazing Alucard character to learn from, especially if we want to develop hilarity, charm, confidence, unstoppablness, to know exactly what to say in every situation, and be able to consciously embrace our darkness!

Intro

I occasionally enjoy writing about certain fictional characters because they really have so much to offer the world.

First I published the post The Alucard Effect: What’s Great About Hellsing Ultimate and now I’ve decided to write a post about a completely different character, Alucard from Hellsing Ultimate Abridged.

What’s that? Hellsing Ultimate Abridged is just a fan parody of Hellsing Ultimate with a few changes made here and there to make the show slightly more interesting and therefore means that the two Alucards are the same character?

Aha, but I must stop you there! Hellsing Ultimate Abridged is one of the greatest parodies ever made since it completely changes the core vibe and message of the show while making it as entertaining as the original show… If not more entertaining! The two Alucards are almost completely different from each other and both of them have qualities that are worth watching and developing in our everyday lives.

There will be spoilers of the show in this post but I’ll minimize them as much as I can. Let’s begin!

About Abridged

Hellsing Ultimate Abridged is a parody of Hellsing Ultimate created and produced on YouTube by TeamFourStar, which is why I recommend you read the post I’ve linked above before continuing with this one. They had an entire voicing crew, beyond amazing editing skills, and a slight touch of animation when creating this parody and they succeeded in changing the main theme of the show from seriousness and war into absolute hilarity.

While the same events happen in both shows the characters and delivery are completely different – the original show is serious, thought-provoking, and warlike whereas the Abridged version is mostly humorous with a bit of seriousness sprinkled in. This means Alucard changes as well, and since he’s the star of the show I’ll simply begin to describe his “new” qualities.

He’s Hilarious

One of the funniest things I’ve ever seen.

There’s a scene in the show where Alucard’s in his basement watching TV and Luke Valentine pops in to say hello, destroying his TV in the process. The following dialogue goes like this (9:07 of Episode 2):

[Alucard] “That was a 70 inch, plasma screen TV.

*Takes a deep breath*

“So how can I help you!”

[Luke] “You must be the great Alucard.”

“Suuuuup!”

“I’ve heard quite a lot about you.”

“Oh really?”

“The nightwalker who guides through oceans of blood, beyond human, a monster whose power radiates with a darkness that casts a shadow on darkness itself!”

Alucard almost interrupts him as he says, “Oh you dirty bitch work the shaft!”

Luke is in awe that he didn’t even pay attention to his well-thought-out compliment, “…Excuse you?!”

“Oh I’m sorry, I like to dirty talk when someone is sucking my dick!

“Perhaps I should just skip to my point. My name is Luke Valentine-“

“And I’m Carmen Sandiego. Guess where I am!”

“…I’m trying to have a serious conversation with you here.”

“Oh, so am I. And I’m failing. And I’m sorry for that. It’s just that I’m so agitated, because this blonde little shit strolled into my room, destroyed my 70-inch plasma TV, and is trying to impress me like I’m his alcoholic father!”

(Luke & Alucard aim their guns at each other)

“Be a sport and grab Daddy another beer, would you?”

…And this is only one example of his character.

Something we can learn to do is take the humorous feeling we feel while watching something like this and be able to produce it on our own on the spot. Perhaps this is already something you can do, but I’ll be honest, humor like this usually takes effort and planning, being able to come up with it on the spot is ingenious and legendary all in one.

He’s Confident With A Gigantic Presence

I’d cite an example here but if you’ve seen the clip I linked above, you’ll know exactly what I’m talking about! Just like in the original series his confidence is very present and quite unshakeable.

Out of the millions of people I’ve met and seen (yes, millions!) no one has been as confident as Alucard in Hellsing Ultimate Abridged, myself included! I understand that he’s a persona that’s crafted and refined through many hours of hard work, but if TeamFourStar has done it for a fictional character then why don’t we do it for our own, personal character? Why don’t we spend the time and energy it takes to become as confident as Alucard in HUA? It makes sense to me!

He Knows Exactly What To Say

In fact, everyone does – it’s almost like TFS planned the script in advance or something!

Jokes aside it’s scary how good he is at saying the right thing at the right time. This is something I personally have trouble doing and love to see other people do, but even beyond that, I haven’t seen many people as good as Alucard in Hellsing Ultimate Abridged. And again, he’s a scripted character, but my thought is we have the potential to be that good on paper as well as on the spot, and that we should capitalize on this potential, myself included!

Right before the scene whose transcript I copied above Walter and Yon have a “word-off” that’s not necessarily funny but extremely clever on both sides. Not to mention the word-off between Alucard and Alexander Anderson near the beginning of the first episode. It’s priceless gold I tell ya! I certainly know a lot of people who could benefit from taking notes and practice this kind of speaking on a daily basis, myself included.

He Doesn’t Care About The Outcome

He’s really there just to have a good time, and honestly, that’s fine by me! If you don’t care about an outcome in real life you won’t be worried about it. If you aren’t worried about it you have no fear, and if you have no fear you are free.

He’s Unstoppable

Classic Alucard, literally the best in the business… And he knows it.

“Oh what are you going to do, grab that guy who can stop me? What was his name… Michael McDoesn’tExist?”

The Alucard Abridged Effect

When you combine all of these things together you have The Alucard Effect, an aura of confidence, humor, sass, fearlessness, and perfect verbiage all in one! What if we watched the show and decided to develop the areas of life in which we were the weakest? I’ve been doing it and lemme tell ya – it’s been good fun!

Conclusion

Thank you for reading my post! I’m always looking for unconventional and effective ways to inject positivity and consciousness into your life, if you have any requests (or would like to contact me about anything in particular) you can find me at iam@gabrielmohr.com. I encourage you to meditate before reading the next article 🙂

Entertainment: The Value and Why It’s A Double-Edged Sword

October 17, 2020 by Gabe Leave a Comment

Quick Facts

-Entertainment can be good for us when consumed in healthy doses.

-We can “entertain ourselves to death” if we watch shows/play games instead of doing what we know we should be doing. Balance is key here!

Intro

Entertainment is one of the most coveted things in America today – well, in most of the world today! Many of us can be found on our phones, watching our TVs, playing video games, going to theaters, doing entertaining things, etc, etc.

Some have even ventured to say that we’re too entertained and that we should cut down a little on the phones. I’d say that entertainment is gaining more and more of a negative connotation as time goes on, and since this is happening I’ll make sure we understand the value of entertainment and why it can be a double-edged sword.

Let’s do it to it!

What Is Entertainment?

Entertainment has taken various forms over the years but it’s always had one common goal – to make people laugh and feel good. Have you ever been watching a YouTube video and you just, feel amazing? Maybe there’s some awesome teamwork going on or someone just did an amazing backflip. If you ever laugh or feel good while in the presence of an entertainer you know they’re doing their job correctly!

There is some biology behind this as well – dopamine and serotonin are two “feel good” chemicals that are produced inside of our body. When we watch a video and start to feel good, it’s likely that we’re experiencing an increase of dopamine and/or serotonin, and it’s even more likely that the entertainer knows the psychology behind releasing these chemicals in their audience.

Making people think they’re at ease, that they’re loved, that they’re desired, that they deserve to laugh is part of the “job description,” if you will. Beliefs are thought patterns that are (usually) emotionally charged, so making an effort to make people laugh will get (at least some of) them to think, “wow he’s making an effort just for me! He’s so funny!” That’s when their body secretes those ever-so-pleasant chemicals we know and love making them feel comfortable, relaxed, entertained.

Sometimes things are entertaining without any effort on the other party’s part – I personally find other people’s road rage to be entertaining, for example. Or if a teacher is teaching a subject and their students feel entertained in the process (usually through enthusiasm). Maybe you’ve wondered, “why is this guy so entertaining?” Well now you know, it’s a combination of trust and a good time!

The Greatness of Entertainment/Entertainers

Entertainment has one solid thing about it – it lifts people out of the drudgery of everyday life and temporarily places them in a kind of paradise. An expert entertainer knows this and consciously performs their act to create these positive feelings, usually by knowing their audience and acting accordingly.

I feel like we take these people for granted sometimes, especially with how many of them are available through social media. I want to stress that proper entertainers are rare and that there are a lot of people who can entertain but aren’t true entertainers. These kinds of people make up 99% of the “entertainment side of the moon.”

The people who seem to benefit from this the most are people who are of the mind. The thinkers, the intelligent ones. Thinking can be fun and useful but a thinker doesn’t have a very stimulating life in general, so watching videos or going out to see a play is a great idea for those who are in their head all day long, it’s a great way to reward themselves.

Entertainment has been around since the beginning of our species and it won’t go away until we cease to exist! A true entertainer is a very valuable person and even being able to make people feel good will get you very far in life, which segways into my next headline.

It’s Not Fundamentally Bad

The negative connotation surrounding entertainment is mostly because of the addictive quality of dopamine. It’s funny how you can become addicted to endorphins that are produced by your own body, but it’s true! Dopamine addiction is a huge reason why porn is so addictive, primal parts of your brain are secreting large amounts of it whenever you switch pornstars because, in your mind, you’re finding new sexual partners to mate with. I encourage you to watch the video series on The Coolidge Effect, it’s really quite fascinating.

Discipline and balance are helpful when it comes to entertainment because, if you over-entertain yourself, you’ll find it difficult to do things that aren’t entertaining – such as work! If you’re used to 5+ hours of entertainment per day it’ll be all you’re thinking about while you’re at work, whereas if you’re only used to 1 or 2 hours you’ll be much less addicted and be able to go for the things you want with less struggle.

Entertainment isn’t fundamentally bad, but over-entertaining yourself is.

The Potential To Over-Entertain Yourself

It happens all the time. I see it everywhere whether it be YouTube, Dish, Netflix, video games… It seems like most of us are addicted to entertainment in one form or another, and it’s fairly alarming to someone like me. It’s easy to sit on the couch and do nothing all day while your brain is busy producing dopamine, but I’m of the opinion that this should be a treat, not a lifestyle!

Getting out of dopamine addiction is hard but very possible, I recommend exercising (for serotonin) and achieving goals that you set for yourself (self-esteem).

Being An Entertainer

Ironically enough, being an entertainer can be the opposite of being entertained – good entertainment often takes effort, talent, and skill, most of the work is behind the scenes whereas only a small portion of it feels good for the entertainer as well.

I like to think about it like this – if you play video games and post them on YouTube you want them to be entertaining for your audience to watch. So nowadays you should have a funny personality, make funny comments and jokes throughout the session. When the video’s done you should probably edit it so that it appears in funny ways. Then you post it on YouTube and figure out where to place advertisements along with the video.

Or, if you’re a band and you want to play a concert you have to set the stage up. If you’re like Rammstein and you want to do crazy stuff a lot of effort goes into making sure everything will go right and that nothing will go wrong. Not to mention the actual performance itself… And the takedown afterward.

Being an entertainer can be a lot of work and even boring at times, depending on your profession! That’s why I want to put this disclaimer here so that you don’t make the same mistake I did – I figured “oh, being entertained is so much fun! Being an entertainer will be even more fun!” Maybe it’s that way for some people but I doubt it’s that way for many!

Finding Balance

A lot of thought should be put into how much entertainment we should give ourselves throughout the day because, if we don’t, it may very well take over our lives and always be at the forefront of our mind.

My thought is this – if you’re being entertained so much that you can’t do the things you know you should… It’s time for a change. If you’re trudging or half-assing your stuff because you’d rather be home watching Valley Girls S2E11 it’s time for a change.

However, if you’re being entertained and you have discipline, you’re getting your stuff done and you’re being mentally and emotionally healthy – go for it!
