On DMT

December 15, 2020 by Gabe Leave a Comment

Quick Facts

-DMT is an important molecule, and it has benefited many people in the past!

-We don’t know for sure whether or not we produce DMT within our bodies, although some experts have used logic and their knowledge of biology to deduce that we do!

-We can reduce the potential risk of consuming DMT by taking the necessary precautions!

Intro

Dymethaltriptamine, otherwise known as DMT, is quite the important molecule! There is a mix of controversy, positive stories, and interesting stories surrounding DMT so I’ll enjoy clearing everything up as much as I can!

What Is DMT, and What Is Its Function?

DMT is a molecule that’s found in many different types of plants because it helps reduce herbivory, which is the consumption of plants by animals. DMT is a defense mechanism for the plant to prevent too many of their kind from being consumed too quickly.

That’s great and all, but what does that mean for us?

Well, we humans have been ingesting this molecule for thousands of years in the form of ayahuasca! Ayahuasca is a plant that’s made into a psychoactive drink by combining the plant (since it contains DMT) and a plant (such as marplan) that acts as a monoamine oxidase inhibitor (MAOI) together. The purpose of DMT in this context was to have spiritual experiences that people describe as wonderful, healing, intense, amazing, and life-changing. And also, because we probably produce the chemical in our bodies without any assistance from these plants!

Let’s start with my latter assertion first… The controversy of whether or not we naturally produce DMT in our own bodies has been going on for a long, long time, so I went into the wonderful world of the internet to find some answers either way!

I found this post and it introduced this study. They figured out that the rat brain is able to synthesize and produce DMT, and that it was being produced from several parts of the brain including the neocortex and the hippocampus. They came to the conclusion that “DMT is produced naturally from neurons of the mammalian brain and may contribute to some aspects of higher-order brain functions (such as conscious information processing, or learning/memory, etc), though much remains to be explored experimentally.”

Mighty interesting… But even still, no one has directly confirmed that DMT is naturally produced in our bodies other than Borjigin who I quoted above. Borjigin was experimenting with rats, however, and though many have used logic and their knowledge of biology to confirm that DMT is produced in our brains it hasn’t been scientifically confirmed as of the publish date of this post.

As A Psychedelic

Then we have DMT as a psychedelic. Some of us drink the ayahuasca brew and some of us smoke it, but either way, it’s been said that it’s the most powerful psychedelic on the planet, especially when it’s smoked.

There have been reports of people talking to our ancestors and/or higher beings, seeing and feeling intense geometry, going underground, going to a circus-like setting, and having life-changing experiences. Everyone, and I mean everyone, I’ve come across who took DMT conveys an extremely positive message with tones of love and playfulness, almost as if they felt something so positive and so intense that they just had to share it with me!

This is mostly why DMT is so special. Sure, we may produce it in our bodies and we may be able to produce extra through natural means, but the real meat and potatoes is consuming it from the outside; it’s so powerful and so transformative that it goes far beyond any state provided by open-mindedness, meditation, or religion – and these kinds of states and experiences can be very powerful, too!

Unfortunately, the government (probably) knows this and they keep it illegal. I’m fact, I’m legally obligated to tell you that I do not advocate the use of this substance and that this information is for education and risk-reduction purposes only. Isn’t that sad? Isn’t it sad that the government makes a part of nature illegal (most likely) because they understand it exposes their scheme right down to the very core? I’m disappointed in the people who call DMT a “drug” that has “side effects,” it’s one of the best ways to heal yourself mentally and physically. You don’t get a hangover and you don’t experience any undesirable side effects after smoking it, 99.99% of the time it’s a positive experience that everyone will benefit from doing at least once in their lifetime.

Do We Benefit From This, Or Should We Leave DMT Alone?

DMT is very beneficial to your wellbeing, especially if you’re reading this post, and especially if you have the proper set and setting. The more open-minded, conscious, and able to surrender you are the more effective DMT/ayahuasca will be, and if you combine your set with a good setting (by yourself or with a conscious friend indoors or outdoors in a safe place) you’ll probably have a very good experience.

Also, it’s worth researching and/or getting involved in the search to find if we naturally produce it in our brains. If we do, and if we can produce an increased amount via meditation (like with serotonin) then we’ll be able to go on our own “mini-trips” without any interference from the law.

In my opinion, DMT should only be left alone if you’re afraid of the government’s hand unless you consciously intend to overcome your fear. Generally, this kind of fear is what makes DMT not so effective, and sometimes civil disobedience is exactly the right thing to do.

Final Thoughts

I wish to mention once more that we’ve been ingesting DMT for thousands of years, and we’re still alive as a species! I also want to argue that our disconnection with DMT and psychedelics, in general, is part of the reason we’re suffering so much around the world. These aren’t party drugs that give you side effects and potentially ruin your life – psychedelics (especially the natural ones like psilocybin, DMT, peyote, etc), when used properly, give you a quality of life that cannot be overstated. And a species that takes psychedelics as a group is a species that is enlightened and capable/willing to work as a team towards a regenerative goal – that is survival, expansion, and enjoyment.

Conclusion

Thank you for reading my article! I’m slightly afraid the law is going to come after me for this one, but I will tell the truth no matter what!

I’ll see you in the next post!

On Dopamine

December 14, 2020 by Gabe Leave a Comment

Quick Facts

-Dopamine is our reward chemical, and a healthy amount of it is healthy for us!

-We can produce more of it by meditating, properly choosing times to reward ourselves, eating more protein-rich foods, more velvet beans, and more!

Intro

Dopamine has received some mixed opinions over the years. Some of us say it’s good for you since it’s a chemical we naturally produce, and some of us say that you should stay away from social media and video games because of the massive loads of dopamine these things encourage your brain to produce.

But what’s really going on here?

The Stigma Around Dopamine

Dopamine is, in essence, a pleasure molecule that’s released when we have access to something we find pleasurable we didn’t have access to before. For example, if we believe that watching a movie is a pleasurable activity our dopamine levels will slowly increase as the workday goes on and the movie becomes “more accessible.”

So what happens is many of us believe that watching movies/playing games/scrolling through social media on our phones is a pleasurable activity, and since we do our brain gives us a release of dopamine whenever we turn the screen on. This is why people say social media is bad for you – it’s because it’s a pretty big dopamine release that you can access pretty much whenever you want, among other reasons.

However, I want to mention that dopamine doesn’t inhibit us – having a healthy amount of dopamine in your body helps your digestive system work properly, helps your executive functioning work properly, helps your heart and kidneys function properly, helps your motor control, pain processing, stress response, sleep cycle, and more. So yes, while we receive it (in part) because we feel like we deserve it, it really helps us in a lot of different ways.

So, Is Dopamine Good Then?

Absolutely. Just like every other pleasure chemical, however, a proper balance is key! Too low of a dopamine level and you can feel depressed, too high of a dopamine level and you can develop mania. But, we instinctively know our bodies pretty well – we can often feel when enough is enough or when we need more of something. Shhhh, don’t tell your doctor I said that 😉

Even though it’s a good chemical some psychology comes into play – we choose what we consider to be pleasurable. So, if we think that pulling out our phones gives us pleasure we’ll probably get a lot of dopamine throughout the day, maybe even too much. If we think that we’re only allowed to have a good time if we find where Jimmy Hoffner’s buried, well, we’ll probably be in for a lot of disappointment.

So, I encourage you to choose what you think should be pleasurable and when you think you should be rewarded with a rush of dopamine. I would make it reasonable, not too far out-of-reach, but also not too simple either.

How Can We Use It To Our Advantage?

Once we decide what is pleasurable for us we can begin using dopamine to our advantage. Dopamine is fairly addictive by nature, but this doesn’t have to be a bad thing if we don’t let it be.

For example, I love food. I had some tasty food, waiting in the car, ready to be munched down right before I sat down to write. But, I told myself I had to go shopping first, and that made me truly feel motivated when I otherwise wouldn’t be!

That’s how we can use it to our advantage – we can consciously refrain from rewarding ourselves until we get our stuff done, and feel truly motivated in the process. We may feel temptation as well, however, the less we give in to the temptation the longer we’ll feel motivated to do the things we consider monotonous.

How Can We Produce More Dopamine?

Okay, so now that that’s all out of the way we can produce more dopamine through a ton of different ways!

Like I mentioned above, it’s mostly psychological. You can also do a mental check to see if you have an addiction – if you ask yourself “do I have an addiction?” and you answer in the positive, doing everything you can do to curb your addiction and replacing it with healthy ways to “earn” dopamine will help you out a bunch.

Try eating protein-rich foods like eggs, turkey, beef, soy, and legumes. These kinds of foods have high levels of tyrosine and phenylalanine, which get turned into dopamine inside of your body.

Eat less (or no) saturated fat such as dairy, butter, animal fat, or palm oil since they can disrupt dopamine signaling in the brain when you eat a lot of them.

Velvet beans in particular have a high level of L-dopa, which is the precursor molecule to dopamine. They can be toxic in high amounts, though, so please pay attention to the labeling on the package.

Exercise and sleep. These are probably the most important and effective ways to produce more dopamine!

Studies have shown that listening to music can boost your dopamine levels!

Try meditating! I will personally vouch for meditation since it works so well for me.

Sunlight and supplements, including iron, niacin, folate, and vitamin B6 with more research required to confirm magnesium, vitamin D, curcumin, oregano extract, and green tea.

Final Thoughts

I see the possibility of producing too much dopamine if we choose to produce it “manually.” However, I want to counter this fear with the assertion that we instinctively know when we’re deficient and when we’ve gone too far (like I mentioned above), so I’m not too worried about it. I encourage you to trust your gut in this regard!

Conclusion

Thank you so much for reading my article! I hope it answered any questions you had about dopamine and I’ll see you in the next post!

On Serotonin

December 12, 2020 by Gabe Leave a Comment

Quick Facts

-While serotonin makes us feel good, it also helps reduce depression and anxiety, it helps us sleep, it helps us form blood clots, it reduces your libido (in a good way), and more!

-We can produce more of it with exercise, manual labor, and meditation!

Intro

Serotonin is almost a household name at this point! We’re told it’s good for us and that we produce it through exercise and meditation. We usually associate the feeling of a good level of serotonin with confidence. And, it’s more important than most of us realize!

Why Is Serotonin So Important?

The main reason we find it so interesting is that it’s thought to regulate our mood. It’s also thought to regulate anxiety and decrease depression.

I say thought because, according to the source I’m deriving my information from, we don’t know if serotonin does this for sure. However, we do know that SSRIs usually help cure depression, and the way they do that is by keeping some of your serotonin from going from your brain to your bloodstream, which means they just regulate the serotonin you already produce. So, by using a bit of logic, we can say that serotonin 100% helps with depression and anxiety.

It’s also helpful because it helps you regulate your bowel movements, it helps you up-chuck when you’re sick, it helps you sleep, it helps you form blood clots, it reduces your libido, it helps you be more emotionally stable, calmer, more focused, and generally happier.

It really is a miracle molecule in a lot of ways! I remember working in Texas and sorting out my mind; I was very, very depressed at the time and I did a lot of mental rearranging and healing so that I could be mentally healthy. But I wasn’t very physically active with my job, so I didn’t have a lot of serotonin flowing through my system! If I had known that upping the flow of serotonin through a healthy diet and exercise was so important I would have exercised a lot more than I did – it would have been very, very nice.

How Can We Produce More Of It?

If you’re feeling depressed, chances are you’ll benefit from producing more serotonin in your body. I don’t think many of us need SSRIs since there are some things we can do to naturally produce more serotonin in our bodies. We can:

-Expose ourselves to sunshine and sun lights.

-Exercise regularly.

-Consistently partake in a healthy diet.

-Meditate. I will personally vouch for this because I can meditate while repeating “I choose to produce more serotonin” and I will instantly feel better! I also say “I choose to produce more DMT” and that definitely works as well 🙂

Final Thoughts

I’m hesitant to encourage you to take SSRIs for two reasons in particular: they lose their effectiveness over time and they may be a cause for stomach issues. The reason I think this is because SSRIs prevent some of the serotonin your brain produces from going into your bloodstream. That’s all well and good, except your intestines use serotonin to regulate your bowel movements; if less serotonin is reaching your lower body via your bloodstream this could be causing some problems. Seeing Jordan Peterson have so many stomach problems while taking SSRIs makes this a solid hypothesis, in my opinion.

Also, if you naturally produce less serotonin than you feel you need, it seems like it’s a constant effort to manually encourage the correct amount of production. That means consistently exercising and meditating for the rest of your life. But hey, life’s pretty good when you feel good! 🙂

Conclusion

Thank you for reading my article! I encourage you to produce as much serotonin as you feel is right, and I’ll see you in the next post!

The Value of Video Games

December 11, 2020 by Gabe Leave a Comment

Quick Facts

-Different kinds of video games have different kinds of values! Shooters help us develop our reflexes and quick observational skills. RPGs show us how to use what we have, and they help us develop our patience. Brain games help keep our intelligence and memory skills sharp!

-Video games can be used to avoid pain and trauma. Playing video games to do this isn’t healthy, and healing your pain is much better than suppressing it.

Intro

Video games have been on the rise since the early 1980s and they’ve definitely received some mixed opinions. Some of us think they’re detrimental to our well-being, some of us think they’re actually good for us, and some of us are completely indifferent to them entirely.

I’ve thoroughly enjoyed them since I was a young lad and many of my friends have as well! This prompted me to ask the question, “why?”

The Stigma Surrounding Them

I want to address the core complaint that many of us have about video games;

“They’re making you unproductive, how will you ever move on with your life if you keep playing these things?”

Many parents and older people disdain video games for either this reason or something that looks like, “you need to spend more time outside/with your family and friends.”

These beliefs are fading away as more and more people are able to make a living by recording themselves playing video games and posting their videos on YouTube! The potential monetary gain far, far exceeds the potential monetary gain of a 9-5, it’s quite possible to make millions per year if you make great content.

It can very well be that, even if you’re making a good amount of money playing video games, they can be taking over your life in a way that’s detrimental to your well-being. This happened to me when I was younger, and I decided to expand on it in the paragraph below.

How They Can Be Detrimental

Video games are, often enough, miniature simulations of life – or even, simulations of how we want life to be. Why do so many fantasy games exist, and why are they so popular? It’s because they grip people’s emotions in such a profound way and allow the release of dopamine at a rate that’s quicker, more often, and longer than real life tends to.

With the evolution of technology, we can play online and speak to other people simultaneously, effectively eliminating the “need” for face-to-face contact. We can also make real money at the same time. So, one of the genuine problems I notice is that playing video games is a sedentary activity while our bodies are built to be active. This can be remedied with exercise, of course!

But there’s another problem, a problem that’s much deeper than what we’ve talked about so far. Video games are quite often used to escape trauma, terrible lifestyle choices and situations, inner shadow work, etc. I remember this being the sole reason I played video games as a child, my parents were so detrimental to my well-being that I couldn’t handle it, so I played video games to ignore my pain and to ignore my family.

Playing video games with the intention of avoiding your trauma and pain is the worst reason to play them. Do you want to talk with your friends? Sure. Do you want to make money? Absolutely. But if you have trauma, inner pain, and/or a terrible life situation I greatly encourage you to heal yourself/change your situation instead of using video games to escape or ignore yourself. Please don’t make the same mistake that I made for so long!

The Value of Video Games

Okay, now that we have the sad part out of the way let’s talk about the good stuff – the value that video games provide!

As we know there are many different kinds of video games, and each of them provides something that’s quite valuable to our lives!

-Action shooters, for example, train us to make decisions extremely quickly and have very fast reflexes. They’re also great for unleashing pent-up aggression!

-We play MMORPGs very well when we can budget our gold and buy what we need without overspending. RuneScape is great for this!

-Video games in general allow us to play out fantasies that would be socially unacceptable to do in the physical world.

-Video games like Among Us can teach us how to lie and how to improve our acting skills.

-Strategy games are a magnificent way to improve our strategic abilities and keep our minds as sharp as can be!

-Racing games help develop our ability to keep multiple aspects of the game in mind while we’re trying to win and/or achieve the best possible time.

-Fighting games help us keep any possible move our opponent could make in mind while we act out what we think is the best string of actions to defeat our opponent. This can help us win fights when we aren’t playing video games, should the need arise.

-Video games can help us relax from a long day because of the dopamine releases 🙂

-And, let’s keep in mind that any kind of video game where we can play with other people as a team gives us the ability to learn how to go towards a commonly-shared goal! This skillset is priceless if you ask me.

There’s definitely more but I’ll leave it at that. The value that video games provide is actually quite deep and meaningful, so I encourage you to share this post with anyone and everyone that you know, especially if they doubt that video games are good for you!

Final Thoughts

Sometimes people are against video games because they’re jealous of those who play them and have fun. There are definitely those who envy people who are capable of having fun and, therefore, are against any way in which we actually have fun (video games, riding a dirt bike, hanging out with friends, etc). I encourage you to ignore most of what these people say since most of them are bitter and sad inside, and they can use a lot of healing!

Conclusion

Thank you for reading my post, I greatly appreciate it! I’ll see you in the next article 🙂

The Best Ways To Approach/Counter Tyranny

December 9, 2020 by Gabe Leave a Comment

Quick Facts

-Tyranny is a fundamentally corrupt structure to live within! Refusing to accept it whenever we come across it can lead to a much better lifestyle.

-Disidentifying from the tyrant within ourselves and ignoring tyranny when we see it is one of the best ways to counter it!

Intro

If there’s one thing I would change about our species it’s the relentless pursuit for power and authority. I’ve personally suffered from tyranny and I’m sure you have as well since tyrannical narcissists make the majority of the elite that are alive today.

But perhaps even more frightening is the idea that the tyrant lies within us on the psychological level, ready to spring out and negatively affect everything around it. Suppressing this tendency sounds good on paper but often doesn’t end well when practiced!

What Tyranny Is

This is what tyranny is, as I have observed it:

The tyrant is the opposite of the good king. The good king genuinely cares for his subjects and provides for them in plenty.

The tyrant, on the other hand, only cares about himself. His subjects only exist to serve him, and therefore they are treated poorly.

This archetype has been playing itself out for a long, long time in the literal sense; that is, kings and emperors who didn’t care about anyone but themselves. In America it’s a little more subtle now; we have the CEOs of large companies that often (if not always) act out this archetype.

For example, the people who are at the very top of any candy company don’t give a shit about whether or not their product is hurting people, otherwise, they wouldn’t sell it! It’s not even a thought in their mind. They’re probably spending most of their time working and spending what little free time they have in very expensive ventures. They see people as stepping stones to living out their detrimental lifestyle and nothing more, and since they have as much power as they do, I consider them tyrannical.

Why Tyranny Is So Detrimental

Why should we care that the land is already owned? Why is tyranny so bad? Shouldn’t we just fight against it anyway?

A tyrant is very, very insecure, intensely so. The reason we know this is because they require physical force to enact their demands and defend them from angry lashing out, whereas the good king’s subjects feel loved and appreciated and willing to do what he asks.

In fact, this is why they often have so much power; they feel a deeply-rooted desire to climb the ladder and screw people over because they genuinely feel powerless.

So, you have someone at the top of government/large corporation who has a lot of power but who’s in a lot of pain. Then you add many, many more people like this and you get what we have in America today – a bunch of people who are always frustrated, late for work, and behind on their projects. Not to mention that many American lifestyles have become sedentary and dangerous due to the lack of exercise and stunning anti-lack of a poor diet, but it’s not entirely their fairly since these people are willing to serve shit to their fellow citizens in the first place.

Also, without tyranny, there is no corrupt power struggle that really matters. What I mean is if we don’t engage with these tyrannical doings (buying crappy food, participating in elections, etc) they will cease to have any power, and this is good since their power comes at the expense of your wellbeing. I encourage you to think about that!

How To Navigate In A World Run By Tyrannical People

Okay, let’s get into the meat and potatoes of the whole thing – how to deal with it.

Since we’ve had to historically deal with tyranny for such a long time I’m almost completely certain that the archetype of the tyrant lies within us on the psychological level. I suggest the first thing we do is consciously choose to disidentify from the archetype, accept it for what it is, and watch it play itself out in our minds. This effectively transcends the need to act out the archetype, and having our full attention on it helps us understand it fully, and understanding it fully leads to the solution for healing, which in many cases has to do with recognition and acceptance!

After this is complete we have multiple ways of navigating in a world run by tyrannical people:

-We can ignore tyranny entirely. This option is more difficult the fewer people are willing to join you, but it’s still a valid option. If we simply ignore the low-vibrational orders from government and corporate officials we will be in the clear because of the constitution, and we will also be dealing with it in a much more effective way than by arguing. I encourage you to encourage your friends and family to ignore tyranny whenever they see it, and the larger of a group we simultaneously do this with, the more effective and influential we will be.

-We can learn how to love tyrants and then deliberately seek them out. It’s not difficult to love a tyrant and give them what they truly desire, although I suspect this option will not be very effective towards many tyrants since they tend to be the most resistant towards love out of everybody! This path is not for the faint of heart and I commend you for taking it.

-We can separate ourselves from tyranny by buying our own land and living off the grid. Tyranny is present in everything to do with money, and so living off the grid on your own plot of land is one of the best ways to deal with tyranny! Now that I think about it, there are still property taxes and things of the like… But this option brings you very close, and I’m sure you could bring this issue to court if you want to be completely free of tyranny.

-The video and content production-abled among us can add some anti-tyrannical subliminal messaging to their videos! This is one of the most helpful things we can do to counter tyranny.

-Speaking of court, you can challenge tyranny wherever you see it. I don’t recommend this option unless it’s a last resort since arguing with the unreasonable often doesn’t produce desirable results! Even if you’re in the legal right I wouldn’t be surprised if the court ruled in the favor of their buddy since they scratch each other’s backs quite often. If you’re going to challenge tyranny I recommend knowing your rights, the constitution, and the law inside and out, and hiring a lawyer who is effective and has a good heart.

Final Thoughts

I often mistake outbursts of anger for actual tyranny, and I don’t want you to do the same! For example, a co-worker might say “You need to go do so-and-so” in a resentful tone of voice, and while my subconscious mind says “that’s tyranny and it needs to be fought” I later realize that it was simply an angry outburst and that I shouldn’t have taken it so personally.

Also, while it seems easier to do, conforming to the tyrannical desires of others is the worst thing we can possibly do (in this perspective) for one sole reason: it’s never enough. If you give them an inch they’ll go a mile and then push you for more, because that’s their nature. They don’t feel gratitude for what they have, instead, they’re possessed by insecurity and the obsession for power, so obeying their orders only tells them that they’re on the right track and that they can move on to bigger, nastier things!

Conclusion

In conclusion, it can be difficult to properly handle these kinds of people because they tend to be so powerful. While it can be difficult it’s definitely worth the effort to ignore them because true freedom lies on the other side!

Thank you so much for reading my article, I’ll see you in the next post 🙂
