The leaves fall just as the light within shines,
And yet one is supposed to be more than the other?
Do we believe that the physical must be forsaken for the metaphysical?
How can we forsake the tree which gives us life,
The same life that allows us to experience the light from within?
Perhaps the voice that tells us to forsake the physical must itself be forsaken,
For it is insane to consider such a notion as it appears to my mind.
But for me, a creator of poetry – what do I know?
Can I really give the clarity necessary to change the world?
Or do I suffer from delusions of grandeur,
Forever to suffer the opinion that I am enough when I am not?
But still, must I try if for no other reason than myself,
For my health is just as important as changing the world for the better.
