The Best Ways To Approach/Counter Tyranny

December 9, 2020 by Gabe Leave a Comment

Quick Facts

-Tyranny is a fundamentally corrupt structure to live within! Refusing to accept it whenever we come across it can lead to a much better lifestyle.

-Disidentifying from the tyrant within ourselves and ignoring tyranny when we see it is one of the best ways to counter it!

Intro

If there’s one thing I would change about our species it’s the relentless pursuit for power and authority. I’ve personally suffered from tyranny and I’m sure you have as well since tyrannical narcissists make the majority of the elite that are alive today.

But perhaps even more frightening is the idea that the tyrant lies within us on the psychological level, ready to spring out and negatively affect everything around it. Suppressing this tendency sounds good on paper but often doesn’t end well when practiced!

What Tyranny Is

This is what tyranny is, as I have observed it:

The tyrant is the opposite of the good king. The good king genuinely cares for his subjects and provides for them in plenty.

The tyrant, on the other hand, only cares about himself. His subjects only exist to serve him, and therefore they are treated poorly.

This archetype has been playing itself out for a long, long time in the literal sense; that is, kings and emperors who didn’t care about anyone but themselves. In America it’s a little more subtle now; we have the CEOs of large companies that often (if not always) act out this archetype.

For example, the people who are at the very top of any candy company don’t give a shit about whether or not their product is hurting people, otherwise, they wouldn’t sell it! It’s not even a thought in their mind. They’re probably spending most of their time working and spending what little free time they have in very expensive ventures. They see people as stepping stones to living out their detrimental lifestyle and nothing more, and since they have as much power as they do, I consider them tyrannical.

Why Tyranny Is So Detrimental

Why should we care that the land is already owned? Why is tyranny so bad? Shouldn’t we just fight against it anyway?

A tyrant is very, very insecure, intensely so. The reason we know this is because they require physical force to enact their demands and defend them from angry lashing out, whereas the good king’s subjects feel loved and appreciated and willing to do what he asks.

In fact, this is why they often have so much power; they feel a deeply-rooted desire to climb the ladder and screw people over because they genuinely feel powerless.

So, you have someone at the top of government/large corporation who has a lot of power but who’s in a lot of pain. Then you add many, many more people like this and you get what we have in America today – a bunch of people who are always frustrated, late for work, and behind on their projects. Not to mention that many American lifestyles have become sedentary and dangerous due to the lack of exercise and stunning anti-lack of a poor diet, but it’s not entirely their fairly since these people are willing to serve shit to their fellow citizens in the first place.

Also, without tyranny, there is no corrupt power struggle that really matters. What I mean is if we don’t engage with these tyrannical doings (buying crappy food, participating in elections, etc) they will cease to have any power, and this is good since their power comes at the expense of your wellbeing. I encourage you to think about that!

How To Navigate In A World Run By Tyrannical People

Okay, let’s get into the meat and potatoes of the whole thing – how to deal with it.

Since we’ve had to historically deal with tyranny for such a long time I’m almost completely certain that the archetype of the tyrant lies within us on the psychological level. I suggest the first thing we do is consciously choose to disidentify from the archetype, accept it for what it is, and watch it play itself out in our minds. This effectively transcends the need to act out the archetype, and having our full attention on it helps us understand it fully, and understanding it fully leads to the solution for healing, which in many cases has to do with recognition and acceptance!

After this is complete we have multiple ways of navigating in a world run by tyrannical people:

-We can ignore tyranny entirely. This option is more difficult the fewer people are willing to join you, but it’s still a valid option. If we simply ignore the low-vibrational orders from government and corporate officials we will be in the clear because of the constitution, and we will also be dealing with it in a much more effective way than by arguing. I encourage you to encourage your friends and family to ignore tyranny whenever they see it, and the larger of a group we simultaneously do this with, the more effective and influential we will be.

-We can learn how to love tyrants and then deliberately seek them out. It’s not difficult to love a tyrant and give them what they truly desire, although I suspect this option will not be very effective towards many tyrants since they tend to be the most resistant towards love out of everybody! This path is not for the faint of heart and I commend you for taking it.

-We can separate ourselves from tyranny by buying our own land and living off the grid. Tyranny is present in everything to do with money, and so living off the grid on your own plot of land is one of the best ways to deal with tyranny! Now that I think about it, there are still property taxes and things of the like… But this option brings you very close, and I’m sure you could bring this issue to court if you want to be completely free of tyranny.

-The video and content production-abled among us can add some anti-tyrannical subliminal messaging to their videos! This is one of the most helpful things we can do to counter tyranny.

-Speaking of court, you can challenge tyranny wherever you see it. I don’t recommend this option unless it’s a last resort since arguing with the unreasonable often doesn’t produce desirable results! Even if you’re in the legal right I wouldn’t be surprised if the court ruled in the favor of their buddy since they scratch each other’s backs quite often. If you’re going to challenge tyranny I recommend knowing your rights, the constitution, and the law inside and out, and hiring a lawyer who is effective and has a good heart.

Final Thoughts

I often mistake outbursts of anger for actual tyranny, and I don’t want you to do the same! For example, a co-worker might say “You need to go do so-and-so” in a resentful tone of voice, and while my subconscious mind says “that’s tyranny and it needs to be fought” I later realize that it was simply an angry outburst and that I shouldn’t have taken it so personally.

Also, while it seems easier to do, conforming to the tyrannical desires of others is the worst thing we can possibly do (in this perspective) for one sole reason: it’s never enough. If you give them an inch they’ll go a mile and then push you for more, because that’s their nature. They don’t feel gratitude for what they have, instead, they’re possessed by insecurity and the obsession for power, so obeying their orders only tells them that they’re on the right track and that they can move on to bigger, nastier things!

Conclusion

In conclusion, it can be difficult to properly handle these kinds of people because they tend to be so powerful. While it can be difficult it’s definitely worth the effort to ignore them because true freedom lies on the other side!

Thank you so much for reading my article, I’ll see you in the next post 🙂

How The Educational System Should Be Improved

November 15, 2020 by Gabe Leave a Comment

Quick Facts

-Our current educational system in America isn’t very effective! We don’t teach many things that we should be teaching.

-There are many ways of letting a child learn without having to rely on an institution to teach them.

-We should teach our children how to think, speak, and write. We should teach them all about mental, emotional, and physical health. We should teach them how to build and keep healthy relationships. And more!

Intro

The educational system has a lot of potential in America but it doesn’t live up to it, often through no fault of the teachers themselves. I’ve personally seen and met many teachers who say what the problem really is, and I’ll take the next step by offering some pieces of information we should teach our children and by offering some systems that work by replacing the educational environment. Enjoy the read!

Why Institutions At All?

It’s a good question. After all, children naturally learn everything they need to as they grow up and discover the world! We never needed schools to begin with and we still don’t, especially with how terrible many of them are in America – all we really need to learn is language and (maybe) mathematics.

Let’s think it through – if we had no schools then children would stay at home. Since they’re naturally curious they would ask questions and the parents would answer them. But since they’re naturally curious they’ll want to see the outside world. The patents let them see the outside world and, of course, they meet new people who teach them new things, often naturally.

Depending on their level of curiosity they’ll ask more and more questions and learn more and more things as everyone around them educates them and as they educate themselves. As they grow up they’ll probably have many connections and have at least a few marketable skills, and they’ll have enjoyed it in the process since they were naturally being themselves all along.

Schools are not a need, but a want – we like to build these complex corporate environments and tell our children to educate themselves so they can make money in a complicated world. But what if the child did better by spending their time building a skill instead? What if they take the time they would have spent in school and use it in ways that benefit them more than school would? Many of us don’t consider these questions because we tend to assume that we know best and that they need to be taught what’s right (with some key exceptions of course)!

My answer is this: having these institutions can be beneficial if we are teaching our children the right things. This is the reason we have them, not because they’re just a place to send our kids to every day. We certainly shouldn’t make them mandatory, but a choice, and a choice that would benefit them if they made it!

Things Worth Learning

“Okay then, what are some things that are actually worth learning?”

There are some things that are worth learning early on in life! These things include:

-Language and math. If we cannot speak we may have a hard time communicating, and being able to count things and perform calculations is quite useful. We don’t need to overdo it, but if the child can and wants to excel that’s fine too!

-How to be psychologically, physically, and emotionally healthy. We should definitely teach our children some basic (and possibly in-depth) information about how to be and stay healthy on these three dimensions. This is one of if not the most important part of my post – I really want to see our schools teach this vital information to our children as early in their childhood as they possibly can, especially when it comes to the value of healthy food and how to cook healthy food.

-How to think, speak, and write. There are many ways to think, learning how to speak is an art in and of itself, and being able to write effectively opens up all kinds of opportunities!

-How to form and maintain healthy relationships. This. Is. Huge! If school taught us how to form healthy relationships instead of throwing us into the fire we would probably be okay for the rest of our lives regardless of the skills/talents we have/develop. Everyone has their friend type(s) and being able to stay within those friend groups (and to approach new ones) with great socialization skills taught in school is a solid solution to the lack of socializing that social media has brought upon us.

-Emotions and emotional intelligence. Can you imagine how far we’d go if school gave us an accurate description of every emotion, how it feels, what the long-term effects of holding onto that emotion are, which ones are positive and which ones are negative, and that we can more or less control our emotions at all times? We’d never have any questions about passion, confidence, fulfillment, meaning, love, happiness, intuition, understanding, or sexual desire because we learned about them and how to feel these things in school! This part is very important too not only because emotional fulfillment is important, but also because many of us in America are actively searching for it.

-Speaking of sexual desire, we should go above and beyond our normal sex-ed and give them basic information on how to genuinely please men and women. This will save some frustration from both parties later on in life!

-Intelligence and spirituality. I want our schools to show our children the works of intelligent and spiritual people, and what it really means to be intelligent and spiritual. This way they at least see the sides of life that, if they develop, will help them live better and more fulfilling lives.

-Real-life, tangible skills. Some skills that come to mind are woodworking, welding, driving, gardening (and generally tending to the earth), mechanical skills, and the option to transfer to a trade school for the last 1-3 years of high school.

-How to self-improve and how to self-realize! If you know how and which areas to self-improve in you’ll be just fine when you get out of school, and knowing how to realize yourself (opening your 3rd eye, psychedelics, strengthening your mind, etc) is… Well, the thing to do.

-Beliefs and intentions. Since beliefs and intentions are so f-ing powerful we should be learning about these within our first week of starting school! We should teach them what they are, what they do, how they can use them to live in well-being, and all about negative beliefs and intentions as well… As a start! As an extension to this, we should teach them how to distinguish between positive and negative (regenerative and detrimental) behavior and feelings since these are offshoots of what we believe and intend.

-How to stay strong in hard times. So many people just blow in the wind when a trial or a hard time comes around, but we should be teaching their children how to stand up during hard times and how to be successful while doing so.

-How to live a healthy, balanced life.

Our school systems should definitely be focusing on teaching these things instead of what they’re teaching now. Schools in America have gotten so lax that they’re producing graduates who don’t have a single clue about the things they should know, and this should’ve changed yesterday.

Systems That Work

I also want to give some alternate systems that work just as well (if not better) than the current educational structure we see in America.

-First, we can have a system where we don’t change anything from what we see now except anything that is needed to teach our children what they should be taught. This is probably the most pragmatic solution because we can keep the structure the way it is and only make changes to accommodate the fact that we’re teaching our children all of the things I mentioned above.

-We can have no schools altogether. This also works as I mentioned above – we don’t have to make life so complicated, and I assert that letting life become simple again is healthier for us and the environment.

-We can build a system where no part of school is mandatory and everything’s optional, kind of like college! Does your child struggle in math but excel in woodshop? Pull them out of math and put them in woodshop! School doesn’t have to (I argue shouldn’t) be mandatory, and having school/parts of school be optional seems to be best for the child as well.

-Depending on the child/children in question we can give them the option to self-educate. This will work if the child is ambitious and expresses a unique interest in a subject or two, they should be allowed to pursue it/them and receive credibility for it. This can also work in combination with sending them to school!

-Also, we as parents can simply do what’s best for the child overall. I understand this requires attention and effort, but each child has their own wants, interests, strengths, and weaknesses, and helping them go in the direction they naturally want to go without interfering too much (IE, forcing them to participate in a broken school system) is definitely a better option for your precious child!

Conclusion

The educational system largely shapes how well and successful our children are for the rest of their lives. Right now, at the end of 2020, the school system in America is setting its own children up for failure by failing to teach them the proper things and by failing to encourage the parents to treat them in the proper way. It’s truly a mess, and I encourage you to take some of the mess upon yourself and clean it up as best as you can.

Entertainment: The Value and Why It’s A Double-Edged Sword

October 17, 2020 by Gabe Leave a Comment

Quick Facts

-Entertainment can be good for us when consumed in healthy doses.

-We can “entertain ourselves to death” if we watch shows/play games instead of doing what we know we should be doing. Balance is key here!

Intro

Entertainment is one of the most coveted things in America today – well, in most of the world today! Many of us can be found on our phones, watching our TVs, playing video games, going to theaters, doing entertaining things, etc, etc.

Some have even ventured to say that we’re too entertained and that we should cut down a little on the phones. I’d say that entertainment is gaining more and more of a negative connotation as time goes on, and since this is happening I’ll make sure we understand the value of entertainment and why it can be a double-edged sword.

Let’s do it to it!

What Is Entertainment?

Entertainment has taken various forms over the years but it’s always had one common goal – to make people laugh and feel good. Have you ever been watching a YouTube video and you just, feel amazing? Maybe there’s some awesome teamwork going on or someone just did an amazing backflip. If you ever laugh or feel good while in the presence of an entertainer you know they’re doing their job correctly!

There is some biology behind this as well – dopamine and serotonin are two “feel good” chemicals that are produced inside of our body. When we watch a video and start to feel good, it’s likely that we’re experiencing an increase of dopamine and/or serotonin, and it’s even more likely that the entertainer knows the psychology behind releasing these chemicals in their audience.

Making people think they’re at ease, that they’re loved, that they’re desired, that they deserve to laugh is part of the “job description,” if you will. Beliefs are thought patterns that are (usually) emotionally charged, so making an effort to make people laugh will get (at least some of) them to think, “wow he’s making an effort just for me! He’s so funny!” That’s when their body secretes those ever-so-pleasant chemicals we know and love making them feel comfortable, relaxed, entertained.

Sometimes things are entertaining without any effort on the other party’s part – I personally find other people’s road rage to be entertaining, for example. Or if a teacher is teaching a subject and their students feel entertained in the process (usually through enthusiasm). Maybe you’ve wondered, “why is this guy so entertaining?” Well now you know, it’s a combination of trust and a good time!

The Greatness of Entertainment/Entertainers

Entertainment has one solid thing about it – it lifts people out of the drudgery of everyday life and temporarily places them in a kind of paradise. An expert entertainer knows this and consciously performs their act to create these positive feelings, usually by knowing their audience and acting accordingly.

I feel like we take these people for granted sometimes, especially with how many of them are available through social media. I want to stress that proper entertainers are rare and that there are a lot of people who can entertain but aren’t true entertainers. These kinds of people make up 99% of the “entertainment side of the moon.”

The people who seem to benefit from this the most are people who are of the mind. The thinkers, the intelligent ones. Thinking can be fun and useful but a thinker doesn’t have a very stimulating life in general, so watching videos or going out to see a play is a great idea for those who are in their head all day long, it’s a great way to reward themselves.

Entertainment has been around since the beginning of our species and it won’t go away until we cease to exist! A true entertainer is a very valuable person and even being able to make people feel good will get you very far in life, which segways into my next headline.

It’s Not Fundamentally Bad

The negative connotation surrounding entertainment is mostly because of the addictive quality of dopamine. It’s funny how you can become addicted to endorphins that are produced by your own body, but it’s true! Dopamine addiction is a huge reason why porn is so addictive, primal parts of your brain are secreting large amounts of it whenever you switch pornstars because, in your mind, you’re finding new sexual partners to mate with. I encourage you to watch the video series on The Coolidge Effect, it’s really quite fascinating.

Discipline and balance are helpful when it comes to entertainment because, if you over-entertain yourself, you’ll find it difficult to do things that aren’t entertaining – such as work! If you’re used to 5+ hours of entertainment per day it’ll be all you’re thinking about while you’re at work, whereas if you’re only used to 1 or 2 hours you’ll be much less addicted and be able to go for the things you want with less struggle.

Entertainment isn’t fundamentally bad, but over-entertaining yourself is.

The Potential To Over-Entertain Yourself

It happens all the time. I see it everywhere whether it be YouTube, Dish, Netflix, video games… It seems like most of us are addicted to entertainment in one form or another, and it’s fairly alarming to someone like me. It’s easy to sit on the couch and do nothing all day while your brain is busy producing dopamine, but I’m of the opinion that this should be a treat, not a lifestyle!

Getting out of dopamine addiction is hard but very possible, I recommend exercising (for serotonin) and achieving goals that you set for yourself (self-esteem).

Being An Entertainer

Ironically enough, being an entertainer can be the opposite of being entertained – good entertainment often takes effort, talent, and skill, most of the work is behind the scenes whereas only a small portion of it feels good for the entertainer as well.

I like to think about it like this – if you play video games and post them on YouTube you want them to be entertaining for your audience to watch. So nowadays you should have a funny personality, make funny comments and jokes throughout the session. When the video’s done you should probably edit it so that it appears in funny ways. Then you post it on YouTube and figure out where to place advertisements along with the video.

Or, if you’re a band and you want to play a concert you have to set the stage up. If you’re like Rammstein and you want to do crazy stuff a lot of effort goes into making sure everything will go right and that nothing will go wrong. Not to mention the actual performance itself… And the takedown afterward.

Being an entertainer can be a lot of work and even boring at times, depending on your profession! That’s why I want to put this disclaimer here so that you don’t make the same mistake I did – I figured “oh, being entertained is so much fun! Being an entertainer will be even more fun!” Maybe it’s that way for some people but I doubt it’s that way for many!

Finding Balance

A lot of thought should be put into how much entertainment we should give ourselves throughout the day because, if we don’t, it may very well take over our lives and always be at the forefront of our mind.

My thought is this – if you’re being entertained so much that you can’t do the things you know you should… It’s time for a change. If you’re trudging or half-assing your stuff because you’d rather be home watching Valley Girls S2E11 it’s time for a change.

However, if you’re being entertained and you have discipline, you’re getting your stuff done and you’re being mentally and emotionally healthy – go for it!

Find your own balance in this area of life, know your goals, and stick to them so that you don’t fall into a trap that’s pretty difficult to climb out of!

Conclusion

Thank you for reading, I really appreciate it. I’m sure that I’ve helped sort this issue out and I hope you’ll share it around and be cool like that! I’ll see you in the next article!

How To Properly Introduce Psychedelics Into American Society

April 13, 2020 by Gabe Leave a Comment

Quick Facts

-If we make the effort to carefully integrate psychedelics into our country, we’ll have a much healthier, grateful, and loving society.

-We can safely integrate psychedelics by having certified professionals, Psychedelic Safe Spaces (PSSes), and testing everyone for mental illness and/or familial history of mental illness!

Intro

Many, many studies have been released showing the numerous benefits of psychedelic substances; I’ll leave the link to my favorite one here.

To link every example of a test gone right or a positive experience from taking any one of the numerous psychedelic substances would fill page after page after page, so I’ll leave it at the one for now.

Regardless, it’s becoming very obvious to the ones who’ve done their homework that psychedelics should be legalized (at least for medical use) in every country around the world, and I’ll explain exactly how it can be done.

The Method

First, it’s important to legally recognize psychedelics as “medication able to be prescribed by certified professionals.”

This would allow a “certified professional” the legal ability to prescribe these substances to the general public.

To become a certified professional you would need to take a hands-on course that includes learning everything about psychedelic substances, scanning your family’s past for acute mental diseases, testing your overall mental state, and taking at least one dose of psilocybin mushrooms and one dose of LSD (there should be other options on-sight if someone wants to try more than just two).

Anyone can become a certified professional if they pass the course. However, the course would largely benefit psychotherapists, independent and corporate producers, and PSSIs (explained in more detail below).

Whether or not someone passes would be partially dependent on a written test of how much knowledge they’ve retained and partially dependent on the instructor’s reports of the two (or more) trips. If someone passes the written test but the instructor reports them mentally unstable during the psychedelic trip(s) then they likely won’t receive the certification. Likewise, if the trips go well but they don’t pass the written test they must take the course again when they’re ready.

Once someone is a certified professional they are legally allowed to prescribe psychedelics if they deem the “prescribee” stable and able to safely trip.

Second, it’s important to add Psychedelic Safe Spaces to go along with the courses mentioned above.

A Psychedelic Safe Space (PSS) is a place where people can have a safe, controlled trip in the hands of certified trip sitters (Psychedelic Safe Space Inducers, or PSSIs). People can also go there to earn certification and buy psychedelics made/grown/extracted from their own private production plants across the country.

General workers (maintenance, front desk, helpers, etc) wouldn’t be required to obtain certification, however, management (from general management to owner) would require certification and renewal of certification (renewal could simply be a written test and a verified psychedelic trip).

Third, there must be a major emphasis on psychological integrity in this new addition to society. The instructors of the course and the owners of the PSS’ must renew their certification every six months (as opposed to everybody else who only need to renew each year), the owners (and managers) of the PSS’ must prioritize availability to the public as their utmost priority as opposed to their utmost priority being money and power (which can easily be taken care of by renewing their certification), and the psychedelics produced by the PSS’ must be 100% void of impurities of any kind.

Conclusion

This is a rather short post, but it outlines the process by which we can safely introduce psychedelics to the public. If certified professionals are the only ones allowed to prescribe these substances then we can almost completely ensure that psychedelics will only end up in the hands of competent people and minimize as much risk as possible. Plus, there is no telling how many jobs this will create; introducing a system like this will definitely provide economic value.

Once that’s been established then they can go to a PSS and have a safe trip in the hands of even more certified professionals. Obviously, things will need to be added, tweaked, or taken out of this idea in order to make it work, but now that the general method exists, it’s time to make it happen!

Self-Improvement and Realization – Why One Works and the Other Doesn’t

January 29, 2020 by Gabe Leave a Comment

Quick Facts

-Self-improvement is where we improve our skills, and self-realization is realizing who we already are.

-Self-realization is what happens when we look into our inner world and realize ourselves!

-SR is often greater than self-improvement since self-improvement ultimately leads to the opportunity to realize ourselves.

-Identifying with ‘the improver’ almost always makes it more difficult to improve ourselves to the furthest extent we’re capable of!

-When we realize who we truly are, we almost always see how beautiful we truly are…

Intro

We see the call for self-improvement everywhere – schools, colleges, gyms, workplaces, training programs, various kinds of sports, and of course the infamous “self-improvement” communities that are scattered around if you look hard enough.

The game of self-improvement has become the game to play when I speak for American society, and if you show no interest in the game then finding people you can befriend will be difficult since everybody is busy “improving” themselves in one way or another.

It’s also come to my attention that some of my writings come dangerously close to saying something to the extent of, “You should improve yourself in order to feel better.” This is not the intention of my writings; my writings exist to help you find the silence in your life, whether that means a silent mind, a change of environment, wisdom to help you handle your chatty friends and family, etc.

Today I’d like to make a case against self-improvement and for self-realization, since I have observed “realized” people and “self-improvement” people and have come to the conclusion that realized people generally have better lives than self-improvement people (please note that the word “better” implies that self-improvement must take place in order for an individual to become realized. This is not the case and I simply use it for lack of terminology).

I’ll articulate the two main problems with self-improvement and then I’ll explain what I mean when I say that somebody should “realize” themselves. Grab your popcorn because this one’s going to be fun!

The Improver

The idea of improving yourself is simple; you start out at point A and you want to get to point B. However, since you don’t have the presence of mind, physical fitness, or confidence to do such a thing you need to improve yourself in order to do so, and this can be done through schooling, studying through other means, working out, having somebody train you, going to yoga class, or even meditation.

Of course, the end result of this improvement is a feeling of competence, confidence, and worthiness in the society in which you live (which you can have right now if you choose to, but more on that below). However, there’s one small problem with this; if you’re improving yourself then who is improving the improver? And of course who is improving the improver of the improver?

This gets pretty trippy if you’re the one improving yourself because eventually, you have to ask, “Which part of me is improving and which part of me is the improver? And which part of me is responsible for improving the improver, and which part of me is responsible for improving the improver of the improver?!”

We can already see that self-improvement cannot work because every improver needs improving, and who is going to improve the final improver? We can argue that a circle of people can manage to improve each-other as a group, and while that is possible there is still one more problem…

Pain

To “improve yourself” you must go through the “struggle” or the “tunnel” or whatever one might call it so that he or she can be more steady and secure in the future. This means going through a lot of pain (physically, psychologically, or both) in order to train your body, go to school, work those long hours, or whatever it is you do.

This is a tragic model of life because it simply doesn’t work like this. Pain leads to more pain and pleasure leads to more pleasure. If you’re experiencing pain as a result of trying to improve yourself then it’s more than likely that you’ll end up in a place of responsibility that produces more of the feeling you want to feel! In other words, you want to feel the pain that you feel when you go through “self-improvement” then who’s to say that you don’t want it to go away when you’ve “fully improved,” if you even get to that point?

It should be noted that learning/doing something because you’re interested in it is not the same as learning/doing something because you think you “have to;” if you work out, study, etc because it’s interesting to you then more power to you. I am mainly speaking about those who do something because “it’s good for them;” this mindset points to an unspoken assumption that can be summed up in a sentence such as “I am no good as I am and I need to be better.”

The Realization

This assumption, “I am no good as I am and I need to be better” is simply a thought, a feeling of shame, or both. When the self-improver realizes this he or she becomes liberated from the cycle and their emotional pain turns into a feeling of relief as if they had just dropped their backpack after a twenty-mile hike.

I make the case for self-realization because it is the actual antidote to self-improvement! If someone really thought it through they would realize that they never had to improve because they’ve always known what they’ve wanted to do all along, and it probably didn’t have anything to do with what they were doing to “improve” themselves at all.

How Do I Realize Myself?

It’s important to consciously shift your mindset from the “improver” to the “realizer” because otherwise, the heading above will sound like another tactic for self-improvement. However, realizing your self is simple; pay attention to your thoughts, your feelings, and your environment around you. Pay attention to the one who pays attention to your thoughts, and then pay attention to that one. This is meditation at its core; it is not a tool but a state of understanding yourself and the world around you.

Doing this is frighteningly simple, and when you realize that you can start manifesting your own feelings into your life (competence, confidence, worthiness, connection, love, bliss, you name it!) then people will start to heal simply by standing in your presence on their own path towards realizing the same thing. It’s truly wonderful.

The Urgency

I urgently encourage you to shift your mindset from the “improver” to the “realizer” as quickly as possible. We (Americans, at least) are in a society that is so greatly focused on self-improvement that they’re hurting themselves and everybody/everything else around them.

Instead of this, it’s very important to seek self-realization and to develop an understanding of the world inside of them and the world around them while consciously deciding to do away with self-improvement.

This is a vital change that must happen soon if we’re going to thrive as a species, and it starts with you, the reader. Or readers. It’s possible that more than one person is reading this post on the same computer. I don’t know :).

Conclusion

Thank you so much for reading my article! I greatly appreciate you being here, and I’ll see you in the next one :).
