Entertainment: The Value and Why It’s A Double-Edged Sword

October 17, 2020 by Gabe Leave a Comment

Quick Facts

-Entertainment can be good for us when consumed in healthy doses.

-We can “entertain ourselves to death” if we watch shows/play games instead of doing what we know we should be doing. Balance is key here!

Intro

Entertainment is one of the most coveted things in America today – well, in most of the world today! Many of us can be found on our phones, watching our TVs, playing video games, going to theaters, doing entertaining things, etc, etc.

Some have even ventured to say that we’re too entertained and that we should cut down a little on the phones. I’d say that entertainment is gaining more and more of a negative connotation as time goes on, and since this is happening I’ll make sure we understand the value of entertainment and why it can be a double-edged sword.

Let’s do it to it!

What Is Entertainment?

Entertainment has taken various forms over the years but it’s always had one common goal – to make people laugh and feel good. Have you ever been watching a YouTube video and you just, feel amazing? Maybe there’s some awesome teamwork going on or someone just did an amazing backflip. If you ever laugh or feel good while in the presence of an entertainer you know they’re doing their job correctly!

There is some biology behind this as well – dopamine and serotonin are two “feel good” chemicals that are produced inside of our body. When we watch a video and start to feel good, it’s likely that we’re experiencing an increase of dopamine and/or serotonin, and it’s even more likely that the entertainer knows the psychology behind releasing these chemicals in their audience.

Making people think they’re at ease, that they’re loved, that they’re desired, that they deserve to laugh is part of the “job description,” if you will. Beliefs are thought patterns that are (usually) emotionally charged, so making an effort to make people laugh will get (at least some of) them to think, “wow he’s making an effort just for me! He’s so funny!” That’s when their body secretes those ever-so-pleasant chemicals we know and love making them feel comfortable, relaxed, entertained.

Sometimes things are entertaining without any effort on the other party’s part – I personally find other people’s road rage to be entertaining, for example. Or if a teacher is teaching a subject and their students feel entertained in the process (usually through enthusiasm). Maybe you’ve wondered, “why is this guy so entertaining?” Well now you know, it’s a combination of trust and a good time!

The Greatness of Entertainment/Entertainers

Entertainment has one solid thing about it – it lifts people out of the drudgery of everyday life and temporarily places them in a kind of paradise. An expert entertainer knows this and consciously performs their act to create these positive feelings, usually by knowing their audience and acting accordingly.

I feel like we take these people for granted sometimes, especially with how many of them are available through social media. I want to stress that proper entertainers are rare and that there are a lot of people who can entertain but aren’t true entertainers. These kinds of people make up 99% of the “entertainment side of the moon.”

The people who seem to benefit from this the most are people who are of the mind. The thinkers, the intelligent ones. Thinking can be fun and useful but a thinker doesn’t have a very stimulating life in general, so watching videos or going out to see a play is a great idea for those who are in their head all day long, it’s a great way to reward themselves.

Entertainment has been around since the beginning of our species and it won’t go away until we cease to exist! A true entertainer is a very valuable person and even being able to make people feel good will get you very far in life, which segways into my next headline.

It’s Not Fundamentally Bad

The negative connotation surrounding entertainment is mostly because of the addictive quality of dopamine. It’s funny how you can become addicted to endorphins that are produced by your own body, but it’s true! Dopamine addiction is a huge reason why porn is so addictive, primal parts of your brain are secreting large amounts of it whenever you switch pornstars because, in your mind, you’re finding new sexual partners to mate with. I encourage you to watch the video series on The Coolidge Effect, it’s really quite fascinating.

Discipline and balance are helpful when it comes to entertainment because, if you over-entertain yourself, you’ll find it difficult to do things that aren’t entertaining – such as work! If you’re used to 5+ hours of entertainment per day it’ll be all you’re thinking about while you’re at work, whereas if you’re only used to 1 or 2 hours you’ll be much less addicted and be able to go for the things you want with less struggle.

Entertainment isn’t fundamentally bad, but over-entertaining yourself is.

The Potential To Over-Entertain Yourself

It happens all the time. I see it everywhere whether it be YouTube, Dish, Netflix, video games… It seems like most of us are addicted to entertainment in one form or another, and it’s fairly alarming to someone like me. It’s easy to sit on the couch and do nothing all day while your brain is busy producing dopamine, but I’m of the opinion that this should be a treat, not a lifestyle!

Getting out of dopamine addiction is hard but very possible, I recommend exercising (for serotonin) and achieving goals that you set for yourself (self-esteem).

Being An Entertainer

Ironically enough, being an entertainer can be the opposite of being entertained – good entertainment often takes effort, talent, and skill, most of the work is behind the scenes whereas only a small portion of it feels good for the entertainer as well.

I like to think about it like this – if you play video games and post them on YouTube you want them to be entertaining for your audience to watch. So nowadays you should have a funny personality, make funny comments and jokes throughout the session. When the video’s done you should probably edit it so that it appears in funny ways. Then you post it on YouTube and figure out where to place advertisements along with the video.

Or, if you’re a band and you want to play a concert you have to set the stage up. If you’re like Rammstein and you want to do crazy stuff a lot of effort goes into making sure everything will go right and that nothing will go wrong. Not to mention the actual performance itself… And the takedown afterward.

Being an entertainer can be a lot of work and even boring at times, depending on your profession! That’s why I want to put this disclaimer here so that you don’t make the same mistake I did – I figured “oh, being entertained is so much fun! Being an entertainer will be even more fun!” Maybe it’s that way for some people but I doubt it’s that way for many!

Finding Balance

A lot of thought should be put into how much entertainment we should give ourselves throughout the day because, if we don’t, it may very well take over our lives and always be at the forefront of our mind.

My thought is this – if you’re being entertained so much that you can’t do the things you know you should… It’s time for a change. If you’re trudging or half-assing your stuff because you’d rather be home watching Valley Girls S2E11 it’s time for a change.

However, if you’re being entertained and you have discipline, you’re getting your stuff done and you’re being mentally and emotionally healthy – go for it!

Find your own balance in this area of life, know your goals, and stick to them so that you don’t fall into a trap that’s pretty difficult to climb out of!

Conclusion

Thank you for reading, I really appreciate it. I’m sure that I’ve helped sort this issue out and I hope you’ll share it around and be cool like that! I’ll see you in the next article!

The Alucard Effect: What’s Great About Hellsing Ultimate

October 16, 2020 by Gabe Leave a Comment

Quick Fact

-Alucard is a great character to study, especially when we want to obtain confidence, fearlessness, transformation, a positive sense of eternity, how to consciously embrace our dark side, and more!

Intro

Hellsing Ultimate, the show that shows us the darkest side of human imagination in the most ingenious fashion. It’s not a blood-and-gore flick meant to keep you fixated on sickness but an actual work of art that subtly explains the reasoning behind war and why leaders create it and thrive in it!

Enter Alucard, the main character of the series, a total and complete monster that… Roots for both sides? And goes out of his way to kill for the good guys? Yep and yep! He isn’t the average “killer of the series” that we’ve come across so many times before, he’s much more aware of his situation to be insulted as such! Calling him a “mindless killer” would not only be inaccurate but distasteful once his true nature is revealed, and I argue that his character contains many qualities which we can observe and benefit from!

Fair warning! This post will contain spoilers of the show, I highly encourage you to watch it before reading the rest of this post.

About The Show

Hellsing Ultimate takes place in England sometime in the late 1990s (depending on which timeline you follow) where supernatural beings are the norm and dark, misty nights are revered by all (apparently). Sir Integra, directly funded by the Queen, is in charge of keeping these abominable threats from taking the lives of millions. However, Integra is only human while these creatures are immortal and impossible to kill, so how is she supposed to keep these monsters at bay?

With a monster, of course!

Her father died and made her heir to the throne. His brother, who was standing next to him when he uttered the words on his deathbed, set himself to kill Integra since he was “supposed” to be the successor. Really he just wanted the money and power.

He chases Integra to the basement where there lies a creature that appears to be dead, in a straight jacket. He shoots her in the shoulder and some of her blood lands next to its feet, and to everyone’s surprise, the creature begins lapping it up and using it as food to gain energy. He then proceeds to protect Integra and kill her assailants while taking many pistol shots to the face in the process, thereby sparking the master/slave relationship between Integra and Alucard and a way for her to fulfill her newly found responsibility.

As the show progresses and the threats become more intense we see Alucard give away some of his character. Mind you, he’s not developing, he’s giving it away – a welcome breath of fresh air in an era of “he started out like crap and now he’s completely on top of everything” which grows old and stagnant after a while.

And what he gives away is so solid and so applicable that I couldn’t help but share it with you today! So buckle up and prepare for some of the most cinematic genius the world’s ever seen!

He’s Not Afraid To Kill. And He Does. A Lot.

This is the most in-your-face quality about Alucard that turns many people away – his kill count. I won’t spoil it for you but he’s definitely racked up a couple of lifetime sentences between his gun, his brute strength, and his superpowers, not to mention the fear he instills in people upon his arrival.

Granted, it’s his job to kill supernatural threats, but there’s a big difference between killing because it’s your job and killing for sport. Alucard admits he kills for fun, and that’s early on in the series – he has no bones about it!

Something we can take away from this mindset is that going through the desire to harm, in our minds, while suspending judgment is actually a healthy thing to do! Maybe we shouldn’t act it out, but we do have a collective “okayness” with killing and death because of our primal past, something which shouldn’t be denied and should be accepted in stride!

He Has No Fear

None whatsoever. This is his greatest quality, in my opinion, his fear of death is completely and utterly not there.

Most of us alive today are afraid of fear, evil, and suffering. We avoid it like the plague and any mention of it brings a certain sickness to our stomachs – not Alucard. He simply goes and does what he wants to do, often smiling and laughing in the process. It’s quite remarkable really, considering the dark things he’s tasked with doing.

This is a huge takeaway for us – having no fear in our system is the equivalent of being enlightened, that is, we feel “light” because there is the absence of “heaviness” (fear). Just because we don’t fear something like killing or death doesn’t necessarily mean we should do it, it’s simply an alternative to being bogged down by suffering.

He Is Fear

This may seem like a contradiction to what I just wrote, but it makes sense in a certain way. If someone like Alucard decides to completely accept fear and turn it into seriousness he will be filled to the brim with fear and be fearless at the same time. He is completely okay with feeling fear (even if it’s only the fear of his enemies) and therefore transcends it by “becoming” it, by being himself in its presence, by acting through it.

How we can apply this in our everyday lives is by accepting the things we cannot change – for example, there will always be death. If we accept death then we accept the fear of death, and if we accept the fear of death we can transcend it.

His Confidence Is Off The Charts

This guy… Has no bounds to his confidence. None at all.

Later on in the series, he’s stranded on a warcraft carrier because he crashed his aircraft into it and killed an enemy of war. He floats on the remains of his ship to England where he’s met with WWIII, two different armies attacking the same city. He leaps off of his ship and lands in the middle of both armies, smiling a devilish smile as the two warlords approach him and grimace, inches from his face.

He’s unstoppable, so why wouldn’t he?

Many of us today are not confident for one reason or another. Part of it has to do with propaganda, part of it has to do with detrimental beliefs, and part of it has to do with lack of proper experience. Choosing to have the kind of confidence that Alucard possesses, the confidence of someone who is truly unstoppable, is a serious advantage in life and a fantastic way to experience wellbeing.

He Fully Embraces His Desire To Be a Monster

He doesn’t hide it one bit! At the end of the series, his arch-rival is about to turn himself into a monster to defeat Alucard. Alucard says (paraphrasing), “Do not turn yourself into a monster who could not bear the weight of humanity, as I have. Only a human can defeat a monster like me.”

This goes hand-in-hand with what I’ve written above – does he care what other people think? Not really! Does he care that other people consider it wrong to kill, maim, and murder? Nope! He has no gripes with being a monster, and this is something we can sort of apply in our lives as well; we embrace our desire to become the thing we wish to become, even if it happens to be a monster. The opposite is suppressing our desires, and this brings undesirable results – it’s far better to know what we truly desire so that we can think it through rationally.

He’s Been Through The Deepest Metamorphosis From Fear to Self/Selflessness

Near the end of the series, he speaks to Walter since Walter considers Alucard his “monster to defeat.” He explains that, by facing him, Walter is going through “the metamorphosis that we all went through (speaking about himself, the main warlord, and his arch-rival),” a metamorphosis that began with extreme suffering, lead to extreme fear, lead to extreme anger, and finally ended with the end result – a fearless monster. This metamorphosis isn’t just science fiction – it’s a process that can happen in real life as well.

When someone goes through, for example, extreme poverty, they probably live in a lot of fear. Sometimes this fear can turn into anger since anger is supposed to be primal energy that keeps the fear from becoming reality. Anger, then, leads people to do shady things such as joining gangs, robbing people, homicide, etc etc. They become fearless monsters, and yet they’re completely consumed by their fear and anger.

The takeaway from this is subtler than I like it to be – instead if going through the process of fear → anger → monster in the physical world, we should go through the process only in our minds. Some of us have so much momentum going in this direction that positivity is a no-go, so going through the metamorphosis in our minds (without letting it manifest in the physical world) is the next best thing. Plus, it looks cooler this way.

He Has (Almost) No Mental Boundaries (No Societal Boundaries/Pressures)

He has a few boundaries – he doesn’t use his full power unless he consciously drops his limits and he has to obey Sir Integra. Other than that he’s boundless, and having a boundless mind is the equivalent of having a completely free and fearless life.

Strangely Enough, Despite All Of This, He’s Fully Conscious

“But Gabriel, a killer can’t possibly be fully conscious and awake! That’s just not right!”

…Except he knows about and consciously acknowledges the 3rd eye.

In the middle of the series, his apprentice is tasked with holding down the fort against an army of Nazi vampires with an army of hired hands. Everything goes great until the leader of the army starts attacking them – and she’s 100 feet tall, immune to their weapons, and wielding a giant scythe! They don’t stand a chance, not one, molecule of a chance!

His apprentice begins to telepathically communicate with Alucard while he’s on the ship… First of all, they’re telepathically communicating while he’s on the ship!

She begins to give him the rundown of the situation and he tells her, “you have a 3rd eye. You should use it! It’s just an illusion!” She opens her 3rd eye, sees that the actual woman is 6′ instead of 100′, and shoots her while inside the mansion. The 100-foot behemoth begins to topple, and the “damage” she created was “reversed” instantly.

This is the most stunning and direct instance proving that his 3rd eye is blasted open but the entire show gives it away too – his interaction with the other characters really brings his own character to light, one that is completely aware and completely conscious of the entire situation at all times. It really makes me wonder, “how awake can we really be until we truly answer the question, ‘why not kill?'”

The Alucard Effect

Combining all of these characteristics produces The Alucard Effect – IE, someone who’s confident, fearless, monstrous, able and willing to act, and strangely wise all at the same time.

I am of the opinion that doing some introspection while watching Hellsing Ultimate is an amazing way to be even more mentally healthy than we already are. For example, asking ourselves questions such as “why is this show so intriguing, exactly? Which characteristics do I want to expand on in my life? How can I be more awake? Do I desire to be a monster and/or do monstrous things?” may hurt or be uncomfortable at first. But, choosing to give yourself the qualities you desire is the first step to achieve/expand on your mental health! I recommend you watch the show, the entirety is an amazing work of art!

Conclusion

Thank you for reading! This is a different kind of post, but I had a lot of fun writing it. Let me know if you want to see more like this! I’ll see you in the next article 🙂

How To Properly Introduce Psychedelics Into American Society

April 13, 2020 by Gabe Leave a Comment

Quick Facts

-If we make the effort to carefully integrate psychedelics into our country, we’ll have a much healthier, grateful, and loving society.

-We can safely integrate psychedelics by having certified professionals, Psychedelic Safe Spaces (PSSes), and testing everyone for mental illness and/or familial history of mental illness!

Intro

Many, many studies have been released showing the numerous benefits of psychedelic substances; I’ll leave the link to my favorite one here.

To link every example of a test gone right or a positive experience from taking any one of the numerous psychedelic substances would fill page after page after page, so I’ll leave it at the one for now.

Regardless, it’s becoming very obvious to the ones who’ve done their homework that psychedelics should be legalized (at least for medical use) in every country around the world, and I’ll explain exactly how it can be done.

The Method

First, it’s important to legally recognize psychedelics as “medication able to be prescribed by certified professionals.”

This would allow a “certified professional” the legal ability to prescribe these substances to the general public.

To become a certified professional you would need to take a hands-on course that includes learning everything about psychedelic substances, scanning your family’s past for acute mental diseases, testing your overall mental state, and taking at least one dose of psilocybin mushrooms and one dose of LSD (there should be other options on-sight if someone wants to try more than just two).

Anyone can become a certified professional if they pass the course. However, the course would largely benefit psychotherapists, independent and corporate producers, and PSSIs (explained in more detail below).

Whether or not someone passes would be partially dependent on a written test of how much knowledge they’ve retained and partially dependent on the instructor’s reports of the two (or more) trips. If someone passes the written test but the instructor reports them mentally unstable during the psychedelic trip(s) then they likely won’t receive the certification. Likewise, if the trips go well but they don’t pass the written test they must take the course again when they’re ready.

Once someone is a certified professional they are legally allowed to prescribe psychedelics if they deem the “prescribee” stable and able to safely trip.

Second, it’s important to add Psychedelic Safe Spaces to go along with the courses mentioned above.

A Psychedelic Safe Space (PSS) is a place where people can have a safe, controlled trip in the hands of certified trip sitters (Psychedelic Safe Space Inducers, or PSSIs). People can also go there to earn certification and buy psychedelics made/grown/extracted from their own private production plants across the country.

General workers (maintenance, front desk, helpers, etc) wouldn’t be required to obtain certification, however, management (from general management to owner) would require certification and renewal of certification (renewal could simply be a written test and a verified psychedelic trip).

Third, there must be a major emphasis on psychological integrity in this new addition to society. The instructors of the course and the owners of the PSS’ must renew their certification every six months (as opposed to everybody else who only need to renew each year), the owners (and managers) of the PSS’ must prioritize availability to the public as their utmost priority as opposed to their utmost priority being money and power (which can easily be taken care of by renewing their certification), and the psychedelics produced by the PSS’ must be 100% void of impurities of any kind.

Conclusion

This is a rather short post, but it outlines the process by which we can safely introduce psychedelics to the public. If certified professionals are the only ones allowed to prescribe these substances then we can almost completely ensure that psychedelics will only end up in the hands of competent people and minimize as much risk as possible. Plus, there is no telling how many jobs this will create; introducing a system like this will definitely provide economic value.

Once that’s been established then they can go to a PSS and have a safe trip in the hands of even more certified professionals. Obviously, things will need to be added, tweaked, or taken out of this idea in order to make it work, but now that the general method exists, it’s time to make it happen!

Dear Aquarius…

March 18, 2020 by Gabe Leave a Comment

It is with great sorrow that I see many Aquarians lack the one thing they desire the most; it is simply that you require recognition for the eccentricity you bring into society; it is simply that the ideas  you produce and wish to apply be seen with a fair eye and given genuine consideration; it is simply that you be known for the mind that you have instead of the resume you’ve acquired.

One day you are ready to give everything you have to the people around you, and the next you have lost all ambition. One day you are poetic and feel as if you understand all, and the next you are alone once again, wondering why you had to be born different than everyone else. This is because the people around you don’t change into who you see they could be, and it fills your heart with grief to see them happily diving headfirst into their own demise.

Dear Aquarius, such a forgotten soul and an unappreciated mind, destined to know the truth but have it fall upon deaf ears, destined to do what’s right but never become known for it, destined to be aware but not awake, and destined to be a wanderer in your own right.  You long to retire from the burden of knowledge and the responsibility of others. You wish to be free of the longing for freedom, and to have your rebellion understood for what it truly is.

Fear not, my friends, for now is the time were most will listen and not hear, see and not be seen, touch and not really feel. Now is a time of ignorance and destruction masquerading as a time of peace and knowledge, and you are the one who sees through the lies and finds the truth at any cost. You are the light in the darkness, and as such appreciation is quite overdue.

It is with great honor that I appreciate your mindfulness, your uniqueness, your eccentricity, and your valuable contributions to society. The most subtle contributions often go the farthest in this life and, unfortunately, also remains unseen and unknown by many.

Dear Aquarius, the observer, the giver; what a time it happens to be. The world needs your mind more now than ever before, but your efforts fall into an endless abyss where they eternally perish and your solutions are overlooked in favor of others who don’t see the light. The silver lining is as such: you have the power to consciously retract your unappreciated efforts, your endless giving, and your valuable contributions in favor of taking care of yourself. If this is done, you then have the power to focus your efforts in any direction you so choose, whether it be yourself or others. However, who is to say that others should take precedence over yourself? Isn’t everybody equal, after all? It seems this way to me.

The eternal struggle may finally become a feeling of peace, and the endless giving may transform into a smile of rascality for you. You are already the retired soldier you long to be, and your spiritual enlightenment is yours and yours alone, for words can not explain the infinite and their eyes only see what they want to see. Dear Aquarius, dear Aquarius…

The Primacy of (Spoken) Language With a Unique Solution

February 25, 2020 by Gabe Leave a Comment

Quick Fact

-Spoken language is, ultimately, less effective than visual and emotional communication!

Intro

It’s very rare to come across a person who really knows what they’re talking about. It’s rare to be truly enthralled by someone’s speech, and when you are you are very much so. This is because (spoken) language is actually a very primal activity to participate in if we don’t understand what it’s meant to do.

A Key To The Mind

Words, from what I can tell, are simply keys that unlock images and/or form connections inside of the mind. It’s debatable as to whether or not these connections are formed on the spot or if they already exist and just need to be realized; regardless, speaking to each other helps us understand what we’re talking about because they invoke images and/or feelings.

We’ve gone ahead and attributed certain words to certain physical objects so that when we say the word we see the object in our minds. For example, if someone has finished telling me how their room looks they will probably put a good picture in my mind. If they do, I may respond with the words, “I see what you mean.”

A cat isn’t a dog, but we could very easily switch the words around so that what we call ‘cat’ we now call ‘dog’ and vice versa. In other words, we have the power to “assign” a word to any image or feeling out there.

We know that attributing words to physical objects is possible, but some of us have gone even further and created words that are attributed towards a unique point in metaphysical space. Abstractions like “home, good, bad, freedom, love, morality” etc aren’t attached to any physical object but are supposed to invoke a certain image or feeling in one way or another.

What you see/feel when you hear these words is different for everybody, and in that way, they hold a different meaning than words attached to physical objects; that is to say, hearing the word ‘love’ will attract different feelings/images for everybody, and the feelings/images felt/seen will be what is most meaningful to the person who hears it.

Most of us don’t seem to notice how powerful words really are. Our daily conversations can be (and from my observations, often are) evoking feelings or images that we don’t need to experience anymore. They can also show you an image or a feeling that you need to heal from, or perhaps they can give you a burst of joy.

The possibilities are infinite; words are the key to trapping yourself or liberating yourself based on the reality you create with them.

The Solution

Most of us aren’t in dire need to be free from the words we use, but for those that are there doesn’t seem to be much help available, and so I feel compelled to write a solution:

It is our responsibility to know which words invoke which feelings/images in our minds. Some words will matter more to us than others, and if we find our “trigger words” and keep paying attention to their realities we’ll find that they aren’t so bad after all. It is also our responsibility to consciously attribute words to the feelings/images we want to see/feel.

For example, we can consciously create the reality we want to experience when we think of the word “safe,” or “good,” or even words like “negative”, “bad,” so on and so forth. If we do this with multiple words, or even with every word we can think of, we’ll come closer to realizing the full extent of our power, and we’ll also become more individualized than we were in the past.

It’s also helpful (and sometimes funny) to create your own words in response to a situation or an event that hasn’t been realized by the whole of society yet.

This is very much an individual process. Creating and using words that are supposed to refer to something everyone can understand (for example, “book”) can cause a lot of problems if the words are taken too seriously. In other words, if too much emphasis is put on the word instead of the object it refers to, then negative thought patterns become a plague that has to be treated (see my post on Word Analysis Philosophy).

Also, if we never properly asked the question, “What does this word mean exactly,” then we never have the chance to create our own reality using the words provided to us by the people we know/have known, and thus we stay in the same metaphysical reality that we’ve always known no matter what happens to yourself or anybody else around you.

I’ve created a few words that describe some unnamed points within the metaphysical, and I must say it’s quite liberating. One day I felt a strange mix of fierce determination combined with immeasurable sadness and decided to call that state of being “kuti.” Since there doesn’t seem to be a word for the act of paying attention to attention I created the word “wadina” to describe this. “Tasmodia” is a word that describes a person who is a genuine, raw lover of the earth. “Lukana” is the sensing of tiny, subtle subconscious ripples in the back of your mind. “Krisikara” is the state of feeling enlightened through massive amounts of feeling, imagination, realization, and transformation while recognizing that the state itself is only a feeling that will help continue the cycle forever.

The only problem with these words is that they become less meaningful to the next person who hears them, starting with me; that is to say, these words are most meaningful to me, then they will provide slightly less meaning to you if you have never seen or heard them before, and then they will provide slightly less meaning to the next person you tell than they did for you.

That is why (if you feel the need) you must create your own words for yourself only. Hell, it’s even fun to make a new word for something well-known instead of calling it what everybody else does!

The Primacy of (Spoken) Language

Language is a tool that is meant to bring someone to a certain point in metaphysical space. It does a rather poor job of this unless it brings someone to a point of metaphysical space that mirrors the physical world.

For example, the word “parrot” brings a picture of a parrot to your mind, but the word “compassion” will probably also bring a picture of a physical event, situation, object, or person into your mind despite its true power lying deeper into the metaphysical.

In other words, some words like “compassion” have the potential to (for lack of better wording) bring you further into the mind when it is fully realized. It can give you an image/feeling that is unique to you instead of an image that mirrors the physical world. Why is this important? Because consciously invoking the uniqueness out of different words provides the feeling of meaning to those who feel trapped by them, and even to some who aren’t.

With this realization (and by doing this ourselves) we can transform language from a damning trap into a subjective art that provides infinite meaning!

Conclusion

Thank you for reading my post! I’m very glad that you’re here, and I’ll see you in the next article!
